Alumini
Hello All Thank you all for your patience with my comments about Ken. Hope everyone's holidays were great. The discussion about old Miss Vickers and all got me to thinking. I know this is dangerous. But, There was a Parmalee. Was he referred to as Old Man Parmalee? Also, see Aunt Bee as an outlaw is something to not be missed. Ben Wright, I think I got it right was an outlaw on Lawman. Also a very young Thelma Lou was on Lawman as a bride having a baby. Whiskey
I was standing in line at the convenience store the other day and I glanced over at a display of whiskey bottles, and noticed that one was labelled "sippin' whiskey." I guess the other brands are for just plain guzzlin'. Or maybe people soak it in bread and eat it. Paul Mulik ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Alumni Sighting
Watching Gunsmoke today on MeTV Tuesday, I spotted J. Howard Jackson (the big newspaper publisher that Andy hunted down). Also of interest in the same show, there was a very small Cindy Brady a year before she began The Brady Bunch. I was thinking about TAGS the other day, and a trivia question came to me. We all know Andy squired quite a few ladies before he settled on Helen. And we know that Thelma Lou was good friends with Helen. But here is the question, "How many of Andy's other lady friends did Thelma Lou actually speak to"?Not merely see across the street, but actually speak to. The Tree
This is quite a stretch but here goes - As Andy and Barney were walking the loaded goat out of town with Barney serenading on the harmonica, I noticed on the side of the road was a Buckeye tree - as in national champions :-) ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/

Alumni and Grandparents
I always remember Francis Bavier as Mrs. Barley in the original The Day the Earth Stood Still from 1951. Never saw the remake. George Lindsey appeared in an episode of M*A*S*H as a surgeon. My favorite though is an easy one, Don Knotts in The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.Must have seen it 100 times. I have Va. Tech seasons football tickets. We have a defensive tackle named Luther Maddy. Whenever he makes a tackle there are always a few, "atta boy Luther" cries in the stands. I'm in the habit lately of DVRing the old Perry Mason's on MeTV everyday. There is hardly an episode that doesn't have someone from Mayberry in it. John Masters (Olan Soule) has a recurring role as a court clerk. Briscoe Darling (Denver Pyle) has been on several episodes and has even been the murderer on a couple. Many, many others, including members of the Esquire Club have appeared in the courtroom and as I mentioned a few weeks ago, I even saw Mr. Schwump one time. As far as grandparents go, what about the episode where 4 generations of one family was going to church together. Wasn't it Old Claude, Claude Jr, Young Claude, etc.? Someone help me on that. Didn't Frank Myers mention his grand children? That's all for now, Harry in Salem, VA ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
Alumni
Since so many enjoy seeing TAGS alumni in other roles I got to thinking. (Tough to do without a bucket) What are some of your favorite non TAGS roles by your favorite Mayberry residents? For me 2 come to mind: 1. Will Wright as the sheriff of Bent Fork Tenn on I Love Lucy and 2. Frances Bavier as a very un Aunt Bee like outlaw on The Lone Ranger. (Reverend Darby would have been proud of her acting versatility) I would be interested to hear what everyone considers to be award worthy ___ WBMUTBB mailing list WBMUTBB@wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
