Joe, that's some extremely trained noticin'... and calculating. Mr. Maxwell must have had a few gold records under his belt to have a private plane, and obviously never invested in any rare buffalo nickels. travel and mileage discrepancies
The distance between Mayberry and Richmond, VA is only one of many discrepancies on our favorite shows. The writers failed to investigate things, they repeated things, they changed things in later episodes; i.e. when Aunt Bee sold all her game-show prizes in order to pay the taxes she stated that she kept the tv and the garbage disposal yet in the later episode when she thought she lost Aunt Martha's pin, she stated that she hated giving up the garbage disposal and was going to buy one. It's obvious the writers never expected rabid fans such as we are to be viewing the shows 60 years later and latching onto their mistakes. I recognize them quite often but just say "c'est la vie!" Ron Howard and Jerry Paris and Happy Days
> Ron Howard was a guest on the Smartless Podcast Interesting article, Jeff. Thank you for posting. I had to share the one paragraph when Ron calls Jerry Paris a genius. I’m a member on the FaceBook group Dick Van Dyke Show and Paris is a beloved character. Ron is so humble. He says he was offered chances to direct Happy Days episodes but didn’t want to rob the cast of even one week of no Jerry. Ron’s hair may be cut big city style but his heart is shaped in a bowl. Another TAGS link is Jerry’s wife on DVD Show…Ann Morgan Guilbert who appeared in Aunt Bee’s Cousin. Mayberry spreads far and wide.
