Nice Dress Nellie

My one claim to fame is that I came up with "Nice Dress Nellie."  It is
based on a comment in one episode Andy made to Nellie about her dress.

I'm hoping to maybe get invited to Mayberry Days as one of the celebrities.
They can introduce me from the stage and I'll smile and nod.

Smiling and nodding, are you taking lessons from Mr. Schwump ?

Hey Dan, I just hope Mr. Tucker didn't need the line. You know ""You people are

Eleanora Poultice

2009-08-11 Thread Jack Baker
I ran into Eleanora Poultice the other day and she has a promising new student.
Actually gave him an "A" in breathing. I'm not sure he'll be good enough to
open the County Insecticide Convention this year though. That Leonard Blush is
a hard act to follow.

Thanks to ALL that liked the radio clip!!!!

2009-03-24 Thread baker
Just wanted to say a BIG THANKS for the positive response I got for posting the
Paul Harvey "Rest Of The Story" about Andy on here!!! Really made me feel good
that it was liked!!

While here I might as well post some Mayberry "trival trivality" I saw just an
hour or so ago on TV!!...

Was watching the 1943 Hitchcock movie "Shadow Of a Doubt" (where Joseph Cotton
is an on the loose killer) and two detectives show up to investigat him in the
town he's in...on of 'em was none other than a young Wallace Ford ( "Roger
Hanover", Aunt Bee's beau that was always telling those stale jokes...talked
all the time!! Kind a "pushy sort of fellow...very..pushy")!!

The irony was...they were questioning the one daughter in the family about her
"uncle" (Joseph Cotton).

I bet if Roger had married Aunt Bee...there would have been some investigation
about Andy's "new Uncle"!

Should also mention that if you see any of the early Universal Mummy pictues
("The Mummy's Tomb".."The Mummy's Hand") ,the "young comical sidekick" to the
main male "good guy" was the same, and VERY young Wallace Ford!!

Here's the video (audio!!) of Andy's "The Rest Of The Story"!!!!

2009-03-21 Thread baker
Okay this worked out okay!!!

The sound is not the best quality, but since I always remember hearing them on
the car radio, this sounds "right"!

Like I mentioned last post, this is a audio cassete I've had for several years
from my fellow Mayberry fan Layle Fales...and wanted to share it with everybody
here!!

HOPE all like it!!?? (e-me and let me know what you think!!;)

Now as Long as I copy it right!!.

The "Paul Harvey Rest Of the Story" for Andy!!

2009-03-17 Thread baker
I've had this on a cassette tape for several years thanks to my fellow Michigan
TAGS fan..Lyle Fayles (hope I'm spelling that right at this late nite time!!)!!

Earlier today I shot a YouTube of my "radio/player...a picture of that as the
tape played...so it looked like a recording from "radio"!!"...of the real Paul
Harvey's "Rest Of The Story" of the one to do with Andy Griffith...and "Mt.
Airy"...and WILL (IF it turns out okay...if not I'll re-do it!!!)...POST it on
here as soon as my wife has time to transfer it to YouTube!!

I know about as much about doing this as "Mr. Goss" does about "looking neat!!"
(always pays to look neat you know!!)

Anyway..look for this on here soon!!

Also, I have my "Torn and Restored Newspaper" almost ready to postand am
gonna do it with a "Mayberry theme"...you'll see!! Will have a *link* to it on
YouTube also!!

Just hoping I can perform that "neat" also!!

"Mayberry After Midnight" on YouTube!!!!

2009-01-21 Thread baker
Glad people liked the link I posted to "Barney Fife Meets Gort"...I also saw
the one with Mayberry and the Outer Limits but but didn't like it as well also.

Here's one other good one I found...it's a "preview trailer" for a movie called
"Mayberry After Midnight"!! You can tell this was put together by another TAGS
fan as at the end it was "directed by Laura Lee Hobbs"

It's at.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSt6c5-whHY&feature=related

Again, I hope I have this correct, those youtube links are weird and
tricky...if not, just do a search on YouTube for "Mayberry After Midnigh
trailer"

Thanks!!

2009-01-18 Thread baker
I found a link to this on some of the "favorites" I'm subscribed toalway I
love it when somebody that's a TAGS fan edits together something to do with
TAGS and a classic sci-fi movie This is a GOOD one where Barney meets Gort
(the robot from the origional "Day The Earth Stood Still")...here's the link to
the YouTube video...Hope you find it as funny as I did...I have a couple others
I could post links to also IF anybody would like to see those too...but this
one is great!!!

Check it out at... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8dOwfblpeA

Newspaper tear...and RESTORE on TAGS!!!!

2008-12-26 Thread baker
A BIG thanks for the one that posted (sorry...can't remember who that was right
now!!))about where Barney tore the the newspaper in the episode about the new
mayor!!!

I do a NEW version of the "Torn and Restored Newspaper" (I'm a part-time-pro
magician and that is my favorite magic effect!!!)but tearing the newspaper
with the "grain" (the length of the paper) is the way to do itplus...the
episode where Howard goes to the island also shows where a newspaper needs to
be torn with the "grain"...remember the guy (and Howard!!!) there tearing the
newspaper in lenghts there also!!!???

Anyway, I've come up with an all NEW version of the classic effect of the "Torn
and Restored Newspaper" (I tear it into 128 pieces!!...nobody else in magic
does it this way:) and when I make the video of HOW to do it...it'd be FUN
to have those two "newspare tears" from TAGS on the "how to" video!!!

OHHhh...IF anybody would like to see a YouTube link to me performing this
effect...please send me a private message and I'll send you a link to it!

THANKS!!!

Sunday afternoon

2008-03-20 Thread Jack Baker
Long time member Dan Goodwin came by the other day and stuck his head in my
office to "Say Hey." I told him about enjoying my new Paramount DVD's and what
my wife and I watched Sunday afternoon. Now what episode would be fitting for
such an occasion? Man in a Hurry, of course! We really enjoyed the program and
after I had a hankering to go into the kitchen and get me a pop...and just
maybe peel an apple.

Darlinton Historic Racing Festival!!!!

2007-09-04 Thread baker
I'm sure we have some NASCAR fans here and I want to let you know about an
event that's about a year away...but if you LIKE NASCAR and racing, especially
the "old days"...you'll WANT to think and plan about this!!

It'll be at Darlington (SC) Raceway the (Labor Day) weekend of August 30-31st
2008.

There'll be many vintage NASCAR cars there both origionals and replicas (if
you're in the Charlotte/Darlington SC area and have an Andy Squad Car...it'd be
welcome too!!!) plus others like modifieds, short track and even some historic
Indy Cars!! These will be ON track at exhibition speeds!!

Several former drivers will be there for autograph and Q&A sessions!

I'll have my "Frank Warren Dodge Magnum #79" there and Frank will be coming up
from Augusta, Ga for this! (also there's the "Historic Augusta Raceway" event
there the following week!!)

As Barney would say... "this is BIG!!"

To keep up with new additions and info, check out the organizer's site at
