With all the talk here recently of Tvland taking Andy off in the evenings, I thought maybe I could round up some TAGS fans to sign a request on the TVland to boards to bring back The Andy Griffith Show (along with Leave it to Beaver) to weekday evenings. Tvland took our beloved Andy off before and with all your help we were able to get it back on, maybe we can do this again! The more requests for it, the better the chance of having it return. Pilot Episode
Happy Sunday Fellow TAGS Fans! I got it!! The uncut version of the pilot episode on DVD. The name of the DVD is 5-on-1. It includes Barney's First Car; Dogs, Dogs, Dogs; High Noon Mayberry; The Darlings are Coming; and The Great Filling Station Robbery. As an extra they threw in the unedited version of the pilot episode Danny Meets Andy Griffith. I got it at Best Buy on-line for $4.99. Now they don't play The Fishing Hole at the beginning of the TAGS episodes, but I think its still worth five bucks. I haven't received the WBMUTBB digest since I posted here last week in response to someone asking where they can get an uncut version of the pilot on DVD, so I don't know if any of this info has been posted by someone else. Someone I know had got the TAGS complete series set and his has the edited version of the Pilot. I just ordered a TAGS DVD called 5-on-1. This supposedly has the unedited version of the pilot. I haven't received it yet, I should be getting it later this week, early next week. I'll let you all know if it is the unedited version when I get it. Leon on the jail calendar
After I took a closer look, it does look like a little girl in a cowboy outfit, but it was still hard to tell for sure, and in the book I have it said it is indeed Clint Howard. So we went directly to the source and emailed Clint Howard himself, who said it was not him on that calendar cause he would have only been a year old at the time when that episode was filmed. So I guess that settles it! Now if we could only find out who Mr. Shwump is...! I was watching the episode Mayberry Goes Hollywood the other day and in the scene where Barney and Andy are in the cell, Barney is telling Andy about about the bus tour to Hollywood, I noticed the calendar on the back wall and the picture on the calendar looks a lot like little Leon (Clint Howard) in his cowboy outfit. Anyone know if this is him on the calendar or who it is? Mayberry Days
Well I did it! I finally got the chance to go to Mayberry Days and its everything I heard it was and better. I had the time of my life. All the folks I met were just as friendly as can be, I really felt like I was in Mayberry for a few days. Today, as I get back to the hustle and bustle of everyday life, my mind drifts back to Mayberry and the peaceful early morning walks through town and down to Wally's. I want to send out a big thanks to all who made my trip so memorable, Floyd, Barney, Ernest T, Goober, Opie, Howard, Briscoe, Otis, I'm looking forward to seeing you all next year!
