Good News and Bad News

2019-07-05 Thread Ken Anderson
The good news is I am getting the Digest again. The bad news is I am
getting indigestion again. But maybe reading the Digest will help cure my
indigestion. I think it is from too many weenies, brats, and hamburgers at
all the car shows and parades.

Would you believe I was a parade on the 4th and when a man saw me I heard
him tell his young son that I was Barney Rubble? Guess I still have some
educating to do.

But we are having so much fun again going to the many events. I have a
total of 6 presentations to do this summer too, so we are very busy. I
continue to write my monthly Nostalgia Column and it now appears in 5
different publications each month.

Hope all are having a wonderful Mayberry summer.

Dan's Bad News

2015-09-03 Thread Ken Anderson
Yep, but the food is good, and it is not bad having pretty nurses give me
my bath.

Dan failed to tell you something about him self. He likes to go to antique
shops but every time he goes in one, someone wants to buy him.

We ain't no spring chickens, you and I, Dan. I will be celebrating
birthday #69 on Saturday whilst I am giving my presentation at the school
reunion.

Good News and Bad News

2015-07-17 Thread Ken Anderson
I had a great turnout for my Mayberry Presentation for an Aging Seminar on
Thursday. Got another booking that day for another presentation. I was
also called by our neighboring city of Chippewa Falls asking if I would be
the first unit in their big parade in August. We will have the Grand
Marshall in our car who is the Police Chief. I told them that as long as
the President always has secret service people walking along with car in
parades I felt the Chief of Police was entitled to have The Mayberry Guru
walk along for protection complete with one bullet in my pocket. My
convertible will be following the squad car with representatives of the
Burger King Restaurants because I do so many of their shows.

This weekend we found out that one of the soldiers murdered in Mississsippi
is from my wife's small home town of Grantsburg, Wi. Also on the news
tonight a teacher from the High School I attended was just sentenced to
jail for having assaulted two students. My brother's grandson was a
student at Sandy Nook School in CT where the massacre was. then people
wonder why I turn to Mayberry to escape the nastiness of the real world..

Good News and Bad News

2013-02-02 Thread Ken Anderson
I will begin with the bad news. I woke up early this morning and went into
the bathroom. I turned on the light and saw my reflection in the mirror and
went right back to bed. That means another six long weeks of winter in Eau
Claire.

Now the good news. I have been asked to be in a parade in Iowa. They want
both my classic cars. I will lead the parade in the squad car. Behind me
Linda will drive our open convertible with the Little Miss Piglet Princess.
She will be riding in the back in a bathing suit. Being the main industry
in Iowa is raising hogs, we thought she would wear a little crown of pork
links. This year it is Valerie von Smooch's turn to be the princess.

Regarding Jim Nabor's wedding. I just hope he remembered the corsage and
that he was wearing thick socks so the hairs on his legs didn't stick
through. Rumor is also spreading quickly that when he sang on TAGS he was
actually lip syncing.
(Which he probably really was.) Now we know for certain that Barney did in
the choir, but I think we should keep that a secret.

Got to go outside now and snow blow again. Third time this week.

Good News and Bad News for Mr. Anderson - The Mayberry Guru

2012-07-13 Thread ridestherange
My sincere condolences for the loss of your friend. Congratulations on
winning first place! The citations for tattoos brought a smile to my
face. I had never thought about no tattoos in Mayberry. Good luck and
much success with your pending presentation. You will do great.

The good news is The Mayberry Guru and Squad Car won first prize at the
big parade we took part in last weekend. They will be sending me a nice
plaque. I think it was handing out all those citations for tattoos that
did the trick. When I cite them for that I always ask if they have ever
seen anyone in Mayberry with a tattoo and the answer is always no. I have
a presentation to give next Thursday at a senior citizen apartment complex
for an annual event they have. No parades for a few weeks no so the car
can get a rest.
