Fun Girls
Well Susi, it is obvious that you have not spent much time out at the roadhouse if you are wondering how the Fun Girls got to Mayberry. I was single quite a few years before I met Martha, and I spent more than a few nights at the club eye balling the pretty girls. One thing that was always true, girls like the Fun Girls never came and left the club with the same person. Fun Girls would get to the club any way they could, without any money whatsoever. They knew someone would buy them a drink, and someone would give them a ride home. I always thought it a little strange that the Fun Girls were so prominately featured in a family show like TAGS. Martha always thought about the fun girls the same way Helen and Thelma Lou did. She did not have much use for them. Orville Hendricks - Peddling Butter and Eggs. How did the Fun Girls get to Mayberry?
I just finished watching the episode where Barney & Andy were working on a Friday night doing inventory, and Barney went to the diner to get some sandwiches. He ran into the Fun Girls from Mt. Pilot and brought them back to the courthouse. My question is, how did they get to Mayberry if Andy & Barney had to drive them back to Mt. Pilot? There was another episode where they came to Mayberry, but they had a convertible. Curious..curious! Wednesday evening my family and I were watching the episode "The Fun Girls". My 12 year old daughter walked into the living room, saw fun girl Daphne, and said "What is Andy doing dancing with the lady convict?" She recognized her as one of the lady convicts from the episode "Convicts at Large". I explained to my daughter that it was the same actress playing a different character. Correct me if I am wrong. I thought the fun girls(always in my list of favourites) were introduced in the episode where Andy and Peggy had a fight over Peggy being referred to as a spoiled rich girl?
