Sorry for taking so long to get back on this... Bj Mark :o) I hadn't thought of Flash or Director, but I wouldn't have thought that they would be the ideal way of approaching things. Something along the lines of QT was the suggestion I was hoping for but as you said, the download would be a pain in the ass for the end user. Dons example is exactly how i thought it should be handled, as this is the most common way I have seen it dealt with in the past but I didn't know how to go about it or how to get past the nitty gritty :o) But thanks for your suggestions time. all my best jac. Or you can make it into a QuickTime movie and if the user can bear to instal QT then it'll play. Or hmmm I think I will just nip out for some popcorn then sit and watch this one as it should get quite interesting. my mistake - yeah you were right Mark, Don had replied directly to me on [EMAIL PROTECTED] but I have a msg rule set that anything sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] goes into a particular folder. Created some landing pages with three different sizes/speeds for the .avi clips (the video was provided by another company which serves the files). The new window has all the parameters which an .asf file uses to create the link between the .avi file and the browser. In your OBJECT attributes is where you can set what sort of control the user is able to see and access. Many users can access the right mouse button context menu to control even a streaming window with no controls like my example, no matter what you do in OBJECT control. Can't remember if they gave me the time to make this cross-browser and backward compatible. Doesn't take much too learn if you're familiar with Flash.
