I'm a little out of date on the mac, but last I knew, the hot text editor was "bbedit". IIRC, it has HTML hooks. As others have already pointed out, though, there should be no problem opening an HTML file if it's proper plain ASCII. My question is that if any of you know a cheap (or even free) editor that meets these requirements for a MAC? Thanks, Jenni Not free, but cheap... Macromedia Contribute. Works much better if you have DreamWeaver templates set up, but works fine on regular HTML files as well. It does not, however deal with CSS based layouts worth a crap... but then, there aren't any WYSIWYG editors that I'm aware of that do. You can get a free trial at: http://www.macromedia.com/downloads/ and see if it works for you. hth, Stephen The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] or use the web interface http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ Send Your Posts To: wdvltalk@lists.wdvl.com To change subscription settings, add a password or view the web interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=wdvltalk http://www.wdvl.com ___ You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp. Thanks, Jenni --- First question would be is your template actual html code or did you create and manage the site in another wysiwyg editor like Dreamweaver? If so, that's likely your problem. Convert your template to html and he should be able to browser to it and edit away within another equally restrictive editor. drew The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] or use the web interface http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ Send Your Posts To: wdvltalk@lists.wdvl.com To change subscription settings, add a password or view the web interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=wdvltalk http://www.wdvl.com ___ You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: archive@jab.org To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
