Re: [web2py] Interacting with Postgres Integer Array Field

2018-11-13 Thread Ovidio Marinho
web2py interacts with all SQL dialects, but it is always good to use the
form of interaction of the proper framework. Native SQL commands should be
preceded by the information that you will use, but we do not have any
problems with Postgres, maybe this is the only database that sympathizes
with web2py. Send us an excerpt of your code so that agent can analyze
better. operating system, version of web2py is important in the help
request.

Be clearer, which databases are you using as a legacy? And what kind of
operation do you want to do?

Re: [web2py] web2py 2.16.01 legacy databases

2018-01-24 Thread Ovidio Marinho
What is the need for you to create a primary key in a field name or char?
look this:
It defines, stores and returns a Table object called "person" containing a
field (column) "name". This object can also be accessed via db.person, so
you do not need to catch the return value.
id: Notes about the primary key

Do not declare a field called "id", because one is created by web2py
anyway. Every table has a field called "id" by default. It is an
auto-increment integer field (starting at 1) used for cross-reference and
for making every record unique, so "id" is a primary key. (Note: the id
counter starting at 1 is back-end specific. For example, this does not
apply to the Google App Engine NoSQL.)

Optionally you can define a Field of type='id' and web2py will use this
field as auto-increment id field. This is not recommended except when
accessing legacy database tables which have a primary key under a different
name. With some limitation, you can also use different primary keys using
the primarykey parameter. primarykey is explained shortly below.
http://www.web2py.com/books/default/chapter/29/06/the-database-abstraction-layer#id--Notes-about-the-primary-key

a good practice of development is not creating primary keys are named,
another element would be important to social security + name ,for example.

Hope this helps.

Web2py and AngularJS used identical brackets or keys "{{ }}" -They use
identical keys, this needs to be modified in web2py so as not to conflict

Re: [web2py] Table in PDF file with FPDF

2016-12-06 Thread Ovidio Marinho
Not use '_style ' , why styleFont style. Possible values are (case
insensitive):

   - empty string: regular
   - B: bold
   - I: italic
   - U: underline

for size , use
sizeFont size in points.
The default value is the current size. If no size has been specified since
the beginning of the document, the value taken is 12.Example

// Times regular 12
$pdf->SetFont('Times');
// Arial bold 14
$pdf->SetFont('Arial','B',14);
// Removes bold
$pdf->SetFont('');
// Times bold, italic and underlined 14
$pdf->SetFont('Times','BIU');

Re: [web2py] Re: web2py and python3

2015-11-20 Thread Ovidio Marinho
This explains the situation well python3 vs python2 ,
http://blog.thezerobit.com/2014/05/25/python-3-is-killing-python.html

I think it made a big mess, not to carry the python2 internally in python3.
And python3 is a serious candidate to die. And this is not good.

[web2py] Submissão Python Brasil 11

2015-11-02 Thread Ovidio Marinho
Bom Dia Senhores,

Fica aqui o meu registro.

Obrigado!

Re: [web2py] Re: Relation "table" does not exist

2015-09-14 Thread Ovidio Marinho
The DAL uses the sql dialect to communicate with the database from
this folder . As yet there are no data you can delete these archive
that will be generated again thus entering the application admin . In
case there in question there is no data in the database then you can
delete if you have data then make a copy of the donated a backup , do
the necessary maintenance and return .

 Seems that the new layout of python.org is here: http://python.org

 My first impression: it feels too widely spaced for my smaller laptop

 in my browser, which I normally never do).

 Although that's probably a personal quirk as I typically dislike
 bootstrap based layouts for that very reason.

  I see they keep forgetting to mention web2py as a web framework :-)

 Consider submitting a bug against the new layout? :-)

 Anyone submitted a bug or pull request about this?

 https://github.com/python/pythondotorg

 Just in case: I'm cloning and testing it, to make the pull request

 To support the request, maybe I'll need some facts and stats about
 web2py useage: downloads, contibutors, users registred in groups,
 international sites, etc., beside a list of technical merits that I will
 also compile

 BTW, it seems to not be a simple project, trying to install
 the requirements.txt in a venv resulted in the following error:

 Cleaning up...
 Command python setup.py egg_info failed with error code 1 in

 Storing debug log for failure in /tmp/tmphtpypx

 That was because it was trying to compile psycopg2 and there were some
 packages missing ... just comment psycopg2==2.4.5 line in requerimients and
 install it:

 sudo apt-get install python3-psycopg2

 Another error:

 error: could not create '/usr/lib/python3.3/site-packages': Permission

 I frankly don't understand what is the advantage of a virtual env if it
 has to install python packages system wide...
 Surely I'm missing something here.
 Never mind, just do:

 sudo pip install -r requirements.txt

 But, it also fail trying to compile lxml ??¿¿??

 Hello, I have seen a previous post on an apparently broken Admin screen,
 but I think this is a different issue (or just a noobie question).
 I have done my app development on 2.3.2 (on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS).
 I have setup a new local server (test production) on my LAN, with a
 clean/fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I downloaded 2.9.4 and used the
 'setup-web2py-ubuntu.sh' script for Apache2. I copied my app over (it is
 still using SQLite for now), and updated web2py.js, appadmin.py and
 appadmin.htms as per the release notes. My actual web-application seems to
 work fine on the server.

 But, from my 10.04 machine, when I access the 12.04 server's appadmin
 (over the LAN) via SSL, the layout/design of the screens is lost. See the
 example screenshot. The admin login, installed applications, and edit
 screens are broken.
 Although not consistently, this also breaks the appadmin on my local
 10.04 machine. Clearing history/cache etc etc in Firefox usually corrects
 the issue.

 However, I has also upgraded my 10.04LTS development environment to 2.9.4
 and although the app admin screens were not broken in the same way, the
 Manage buttons were not working (i.e. the dropdown edit, about, etc
 options don't show). Again usually clearing the firefox history/cache
 corrects that. But restarts were required on 2 occasions. OK, its not a
 biggie, but there is something underlying that is worrying.

 For now, I have reverted to 2.3.2 (on 10.04 LTS) to continue development
 (although I prefer the newer appadmin environment).

 Actually, I don't intend to use Appadmin on the production server (as per
 the recommendations). My concern is that the appears to be an HTML, CSS,
 Boostrap or JS issue around 2.9.4 - and am concerned it might impact the
 production server for users.
 I am afraid I don't have the depth of expertise to nail it, so am looking
 for pointers, please.

 As a side note, I saw a similar loss of appadmin layout when using
 pythonanywhere about 9 months ago, so I am guessing (hoping) this is a
 known gotcha.

 Any ideas on what is causing these appadmin layout issue?

 BTW - I have firefox 20.0
 Many thanks, as always.

 Layout_1.html is included in several other views as the basis of how to
 display the items.

 It has a table inside which dictates how the items are shown.
 I need to add the my_result inside that table.

 I'm going to try to copy the function to a model as well. that should
 make it globally available.
 Since I'm new to all of this I'm not sure on how things should be done

 Hi Ovidio,
Thanks for reporting this, however I was not able to reproduce this
 issue in my development environment. I am using web2py 2.7.4 on Win7
 (tested on chrome, ie10, 11) and havent yet tested with 2.8.x versions of
 web2py(since i am waiting for it to stabilize). Which OS, browser version
 you are using ? The error you are getting is due to plugin_solidform
 (downloaded from scubism widgets) module that it could not import or is
 missing in your modules folder [Please make sure you have these compiled
 modules in your modules folder (see screenshot attached)]. I am using this
 plugin in my web2py app. The compiled appliance works for me without issues.
 If possible can you please tell me when you are getting this error? some
 steps or specific operation you are doing. I have fixed a small regression
 in the mean time and uploaded the fresh appliance on the same site with
 same name.

 *Sincerely, Rahul*

entrada e saidas e ai vc consegue, outra boa dica seria analisar as bases
de dados de um sistema de estoque.

 I do not know if I'm asking the right question, but I wonder if anyone has
 a model of an application type product inventory, where there are
 calculations in the fields of the table being shown in the view. who can
 send me. Thank you.

def conserta_submit(rows):
#Pega a lista de elementos HTML input com a propriedade type = submit
submit = rows.elements('input',_type='submit')
#For que varre a lista de botoes submit e muda a propriedade value
deles para 'Enviar'
for i in range(len(submit)):
submit[i]['_value'] = 'Enviar'

ex.:
   rows = SQLFORM.grid(
searchable=False, #Busca com query
fields=[db.tabela.f_campo1, db.tabela.f_campo2,
db.tabela.f_campoN],  #Campos visiveis
deletable=False, #Botao de deletar
paginate=10, #Numero de items da paginacao
create=criar, #Permite inserir novos dados
csv=True, #Botao de exportar para csv
onvalidation=valida_hospital, #Funcao que vai ser chamada para
validar o formulario de create e update,

conserta_submit(rows)

Re: [web2py] Conexao POSTGRESQL vs PYTHON/WEB2PY - problemas

2013-10-28 Thread Ovidio Marinho
Isto nao faça conexões python dentro do gluon ela ja existe. voce tem que
fazer no models de cada aplicação.

ex: web2py\aplications\minhaapp1\model\db.py

import psycopg2

db = DAL('sqlite://storage.db')

db = DAL(' postgres://username:password@localhost/test')

 Hi guys.

 Yesterday I taught a quick introduction to Web2py here in Brazil,

 It was a 4 hour introduction.

 I enphasized some pragmatic aspects of our beloved framework,
 comparing it explictly with Django or Flask.

 People liked particularly of:
 - Instant install through unzip.
 - A working initial Welcome application with embeded and fully
 functional user registration and authentication and bootstrap, too.
 - DAL syntax.
 - Global request, response and session objects.
 - Generic views.
 - Embedded DB migrations.
 - The fact we can touch the real developers in our discussion list.

 Congratulations to you all, making it a wonderful framework. :-)

 A serious DoS vulnerability was found in reported in Django today:

 https://www.djangoproject.com/weblog/2013/sep/15/security/

 We use the same default hashing algorithm for password, PBKDF2, so some
 of you may worry about the same vulnerability affecting web2py. Well NO! We
 are safe, This is because web2py always validates (and always did) the
 length of the password strings and it is capped to 256 bytes.

 https://github.com/web2py/web2py/blob/master/gluon/dal.py#L6892

 This is also the time to point our that web2py (since 2.6.x) uses its own
 implementation of PBKDF2, written by Michele Comitini which is 10x faster
 than the original version used by Flask and Django.

 Given this vulnerability (in Django) probably we will modify our library
 so that, if used outside of web2py, there is a max password length enforced
 by the library itself. You may see this patch in the near future. Again
 this does not affect us but may affect others in case they choose to use it.

 web2py has many users but few github followers. This is a problem because
 the number of followers is a metric that can be used to guess popularity.

 You can help.

 Get a github account and click on the star.

 It costs nothing and has benefits. For example you can receive

 Because I think it is pointless for various reasons:

 1) I am biased and people outside the community would not trust it
 2) Code changes so it would become obsolete quick
 3) One can produce benchmarks to produce almost any result one wants
 4) People who are concerned about 2x factors in speed are not web2py
 audience. The point of web2py is security and speed of development. For
 example we can make web2py more than 2x faster moving sessions management
 to the app level (like Flask) and not creating the request.env object. Yet
 we do not do it. What matters is not speed but scalability and web2py
 scales no better or worse than any other major Python framework.
 5) Every time I published any comparison between web2py and other
 frameworks in the past, somebody got upset and attacked us. Not worth it.

 Hi,

 On the past 2 days, I've been trying to install web2py on CentOS 6.4. In
 order to get that done faster, I used the script that is provided within
 web2py ( setup nginx uwsgi centos64 ).

 Thing is that I've managed to get everything installed but when I try to
 run it fails.

 After taking a closer look, seems that it's not installing uwsgi properly.

 I'm trying to install that on Amazon.

 Anyone has any idea about that?

 Thanks in advanced.

 Cheers,
 Marco Tulio

 There is a major change upcoming in web2py 2.6 (which can be tested in
 trunk).

 The change involves a better rewrite of web2py.js agreed upon the
 developers and implemented by Niphlod.

 Because of this change applications which use components will break
 unless you upgrade the old web2py.js with the new one.

 Anyway, try the latest trunk, check it out, and send us comments.
