Re: Citrix Issue - resolved?

2015-02-19 Thread Calven Eggert
Yes, Citrix Desktop.

Update...what appeared to be the fix one day (changing the url to IP) no longer
worked the next day. Bottom line is that Citrix is causing problems and now I
need to put in a fix in my WO code to accommodate Citrix's behaviour.

 Hi, WO Community

 We've been experiencing some strange behaviour over the past month in one of
 our WO apps that has given an error like the following:

 EvaluateExpression failed:
 com.webobjects.jdbcadaptor.OraclePlugIn$OracleExpression: INSERT INTO
 CRR_ADVERSE_EVENTS...
 Next exception:SQL State:23000 -- error code: 1400 -- msg: ORA-01400: cannot
 insert NULL into (CRE_MASTER.CRR_ADVERSE_EVENTS.CATEGORY_ID)

 What is weird is that I have not been able to reproduce this error after
 many, many attempts in the development environment on my Mac.

 When connecting to the WO application via Citrix this is when the error does
 happen, although there are no exact steps to reproduce the problem 100% of
 the time, it can be reproduced within a couple of minutes. This seems to
 say that the issue has something to do with Citrix.

 This is where it gets a bit strange...

 The WO application accesses images stored in a directory by using urls that
 looks like server1.networkserver.com. Because we had very strong
 suspicions that Citrix was the problem it was suggested that we change the
 urls to the actual IP address like 123.45.67.890.

 Guess what? The problem disappeared. We no longer get the error.

 Has anyone else ever experienced something like this or has an explanation
 for what is going on here?

 Calven

Re: JBoss 6.2 and EOModelGroup issues

2015-02-19 Thread René Bock
Hi James,

we had similar class path issues when deploying our WOnder based Application
with IBMs Websphere. Websphere just ignored the WOClasspath in WEB-INF/web.xml

The end of the story was, that we corrected the load order by copying the
relevant jars into WEB-INF/lib (e.g ERExtensions, all the jars from ERJar ans
do on)

We also hat to set the class loader mode to Single ( instead of Multiple
which was the default). I Ignore if this may also apply to JBoss

 Thanks for the quick response. From what I’ve read and been told, there are

 Based on some information in a link you provided earlier

 tried to put some lines in to output the NSBundle (NSBundle.mainBundle()) and
 this caused a NPE at that line. I’m guessing that is because this is not in

searching for a weird deletion

2015-02-19 Thread OC
Hello there,

occassionally, an object gets deleted which should not be. Now, just before
ec.saveChanges() I am logging out

===
lognow saving INS:$ec.insertedObjects.count
UPD:$ec.updatedObjects.count DEL:$ec.deletedObjects.count
===

and in my databaseContextWillPerformAdaptorOperations delegate method I am
logging out all the operations, and the results I sort of can't decode:

===
14:38:16.299|WorkerThread14 --- saving INS:2 UPD:4 DEL:0
... about to perform 4 DB operations
- 1: INSERT on 'DBPriceOffer'  8{validOffer:false,
sheetConfirmed:com.webobjects.foundation.NSKeyValueCoding$Null, uid:1022548,
auction_id:1000233, amount:com.webobjects.foundation.NSKeyValueCoding$Null,
price:1142, creationDate:2015-02-19 13:38:15 Etc/GMT, creator_id:158}
- 2: INSERT on 'DBAudit'  8{creator_id:158, uid:1031224,
creationDate:2015-02-19 13:38:15 Etc/GMT, kind:8, auction_id:1000233,
title:cenov? návrh 1142 CZK/MWh, aktuální auk?ní cena 11…, market_id:101,

- 3: UPDATE on 'DBAuction' ((uid = 1000233) and (commodityTimechunksString =

- 4: DELETE on 'DBUserAuction' ((user_id = 158) and (auction_id = 1000233))
===

Those inserts make complete sense, no problem with them at all. They should
happen, and their contents is OK.

There were 4 updates in editing context, but there's only one update operation.
Now, do please correct me if I am wrong, but I understand the editing context
saves all changes (regardless the value might be same as before) and consider
them “updates”; when saving though, it compares them against the snapshot and
makes an operation only if the value differs. Thus, UPD:4 make sense too, and
the one update which changes only a string attribute
'commodityTimechunksString' of auction 1000233 makes complete sense. It should
happen, and the contents is OK.

The 4th operation is the problem. It should not happen.

From the fact just before save ec.deletedObjects.count==0 (DEL:0) I infer that
EOF decided to delete the object based on ownership or cascade deletion rules.
Given nothing other got deleted, it _must_ be ownership -- the object having
been removed from some owned relationship. There indeed are two of them.

Now, the trick is that I am pretty sure I am _not_ removing any of these object
from either of the relationships: at the very least, I can't recall I would
(the DBUserAuction objects are not intended to be ever deleted, unless the user
or auction to which they belong are deleted too), and nor I can find any usage
of removeObjectFromBothSides... nor other APIs with the relationships in
question.

Is there some trick to catch the code which actually causes the deletion?

I've tried to observe
EOEditingContext.ObjectsChangedInEditingContextNotification, but it seems it
does not get posted even if I add a removeObjectFromBothSides... manually to
test.

Will be grateful for any advice,
OC

Re: WOLips Copy Paste issue on Yosemite

2015-02-19 Thread Daniele Corti
Hi,
seems Eclipse is not very efficient in Mac OS environment...

I've made some Android Coding in the last years, and I worked with the ADT
(Android Developer Tools) that is a striped version of Eclipse.

When I passed to Maverick, and moreover on Yosemite, the IDE start to work
very bad (the devices were not seen, error on building Workspace). So I've
passed to the Android Studio (based on IntelliJ), thing that solved almost
all my problems.

Don't know... Eclipse on Mac seems always to work fine until Maverick and I
used it for everything (WO, Java, Android, PHP HTML). But now, I've
changed also the PHP IDE to Coda2.

Do you know if there is a version of WOLips for other IDEs?

Bye

2015-02-19 15:44 GMT+01:00 Markus Ruggiero mailingli...@kataputt.com:

 I have the same problem, with various Eclipse/WOLips versions, also
 happens in the java editor. Could be Mavericks related but I might have had
 the problem before. I routinely do a double-cmd-c and this usually works. I
 never bothered much as this is only slightly annoying. But the problem is
 definitely real.

 There are other worse focus problems. It is sometimes pretty difficult to
 distinguish between a selection and a highlight-by-eclipse and I often need
 a second click to activate the contents for editing, as the first click
 only activates the window itself, but the Eclipse highlighting suggests
 otherwise and my typing can thus corrupt some text that has scrolled off.
 In that case Eclipse DOES NOT scroll the insertion point into view! That's
 a lot more annoying.

  Ok, WO's things works with no problem, but using the Component Editor
 I've some problems with the shortcut Command + C in order to Copy text.

  I mean: I select the code I would like to copy, press Apple Command + C
 buttons, then I move where I would like to paste, and press Command + V,
 but the code that is pasted is the previous copied text, not the last one.

  This only occurs with the shortcut (using the Keyboard, I mean),
 because if I right click on the selected text and select Copy from the
 contextual menu, the copy is correctly performed.

  That's very strange, even because it not happen every times, but enough
 to be annoying. Keep tring the Command + C button on the same text, at

 success, before using the mouse!

  In the Java Editor, the copy and paste shortcut work with no problem,
 and also in many other programs on the Mac (so I don't think is a problem
 with the Keyboard).

You do a lot of weird stuff :) Have you installed jadclipse yet?

https://wiki.wocommunity.org/display/documentation/Useful+Eclipse+Plugins

You can probably answer a lot of your questions just looking at the source.

If I had this problem, I’d probably first try providing my own EC subclass
through the ERXEC factory with deleteObject(eo) overridden. If that didn’t
catch it, then I’d dig around in the WO source to find where in the save
changes process owns destination comes into play.

default values in a query page

2015-02-19 Thread Theodore Petrosky
I am creating a query page in my d2w app with

//query events main page
public WOComponent queryMainEvents() {

   QueryPageInterface newQueryPage =
D2W.factory().queryPageForEntityNamed(EVENT, session());

return (WOComponent) newQueryPage;
}

Event has an attribute eventDate. Of course on the query page I get Event Date
(and two date framing the start and end of the query).

I see the ERD2WQueryDateRange has to and from values:

SessionLocalizerERD2WQueryDateRangeTo: ERXLocalizedString {
value = ERD2WQueryDateRange.to;
}

SessionLocalizerERD2WQueryDateRangeFrom: ERXLocalizedString {
value = ERD2WQueryDateRange.from;
}

how can I target them so when this query page opens it is loaded with a
calculated range (this week)?

Those are just the localized strings for the form labels. If I remember
correctly, what you want to do is set the query min and query max on your query
page display group before you return it. Something like

public D2WPage myQueryAction() {
ERD2WQueryPage page =
(ERD2WQueryPage)D2W.factory().queryPageForEntityNamed(Event.ENTITY_NAME,
session());
//Set up page data source?
//Calculate min/max
page.displayGroup().queryMin().setObjectForKey(min, Event.DATE_KEY);
page.displayGroup().queryMax().setObjectForKey(max, Event.DATE_KEY);
return page;
}

   QueryPageInterface newQueryPage =
 D2W.factory().queryPageForEntityNamed(EVENT, session());

   return (WOComponent) newQueryPage;
   }

 Event has an attribute eventDate. Of course on the query page I get Event
 Date (and two date framing the start and end of the query).

 I see the ERD2WQueryDateRange has to and from values:

 SessionLocalizerERD2WQueryDateRangeTo: ERXLocalizedString {
   value = ERD2WQueryDateRange.to;
 }

 SessionLocalizerERD2WQueryDateRangeFrom: ERXLocalizedString {
   value = ERD2WQueryDateRange.from;
 }

 how can I target them so when this query page opens it is loaded with a
 calculated range (this week)?

 Ted

Re: WOLips Copy Paste issue on Yosemite

2015-02-19 Thread Markus Ruggiero
I have the same problem, with various Eclipse/WOLips versions, also happens in
the java editor. Could be Mavericks related but I might have had the problem
before. I routinely do a double-cmd-c and this usually works. I never bothered
much as this is only slightly annoying. But the problem is definitely real.

There are other worse focus problems. It is sometimes pretty difficult to
distinguish between a selection and a highlight-by-eclipse and I often need a
second click to activate the contents for editing, as the first click only
activates the window itself, but the Eclipse highlighting suggests otherwise
and my typing can thus corrupt some text that has scrolled off. In that case
Eclipse DOES NOT scroll the insertion point into view! That's a lot more
annoying.

 Hi List,
 Probably is a bit off topic, but I'm experiencing a strage thing on WOLips
 and I would like to know if someone have passed the same problem.

 I've installed on a new installation of Yosemite, not an upgrade (on an Mac
 Pro, Early 2008), the Eclipse 3.8.2 and the WOLips from the URL:
 http://jenkins.wocommunity.org/job/WOLips38Community/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/temp/dist

 Ok, WO's things works with no problem, but using the Component Editor I've
 some problems with the shortcut Command + C in order to Copy text.

 I mean: I select the code I would like to copy, press Apple Command + C
 buttons, then I move where I would like to paste, and press Command + V, but
 the code that is pasted is the previous copied text, not the last one.

 This only occurs with the shortcut (using the Keyboard, I mean), because if
 I right click on the selected text and select Copy from the contextual menu,
 the copy is correctly performed.

 That's very strange, even because it not happen every times, but enough to
 be annoying. Keep tring the Command + C button on the same text, at last,
 exec the right command, but sometimes I tried 4 or 5 times with no success,
 before using the mouse!

 In the Java Editor, the copy and paste shortcut work with no problem, and
 also in many other programs on the Mac (so I don't think is a problem with
 the Keyboard).

 Has anyone experienced something like this?

 Thank you in advance!
