Re: Wonder-slim

2024-05-01 Thread Francois BIENTZ via Webobjects-dev
Hi Hugi

Thank you
When I import wonder-slim in eclipse I get the "your IDE is missing natures to
properly support your project "
In your wonder-slim README the link after "Let’s set it up" seems broken. May
be is something wrong in my Wo / Maven configuration.
I can’t find the testapp in the repository to "play around ".

Yes I’m able to run other Wonder Apps

For the BootstrapModernLook Framework it works now (ant needs a Library in
folder in the Eclipse project ) I right clicked on build.xml — WOLips ant
tools — install
What did you put in this Library directory ?

Then for the App I tried to use ant too (right click on build.xml), but I
obtain : Build failed : Error reading project file
/Users/franc/Build/build/build.xml: /Users/franc/Build/build/build.xml
such directory don’t exist on my home. (but the build.xml of the App don’t look
like the xml file in other Wonder Apps projects )

I have to search more what can be wrong on my environment

Thank you Jesse

Change WebObjectsDocumentRoot in apache.conf

Francois Bientz
--

I'm developing a new web site and have to update all my wo apps.
The site under development is not in /Library/WebServer/Documents so all my
absolute links are breaking.

I see this in my logs:

er.extensions.appserver.ERXStaticResourceRequestHandler - Unable to get
contents of file '/Library/WebServer/Documents/us/styles.css' for uri:
/us/styles.css

This makes sense since the file is indeed not there.

Anyone know which property allows me to change the web server's document root
for development?

Thanks.

I was able to get the ThinkMovies example to work, but it wasn't
straightforward. The example project build paths and jar dependencies were
incorrect. The name of the Derby bin
directory in the build path should be db-derby-10.2.2.0-bin. Only derby.jar is
required.

But what must be written in this properties file and where put this file ?

The Properties file in the app project (e.g., ThinkMovies) should contain the
following entry:

derby.system.home=/Users/your_user_name/Library/Databases/
derby-10.2.2.0/data/

You can test your installed Derby database (e.g., movies) in a Terminal session:

export DERBY_HOME=/Developer/Examples/JavaWebObjects/Databases/db-
derby-10.2.2.0-bin
export JAVA_HOME=/Library/Java/Home
/Developer/Examples/JavaWebObjects/Databases/db-derby-10.2.2.0-bin/
frameworks/embedded/bin/ij.ksh
ij connect 'jdbc:derby:/Users/your_user_name/Library/Databases/

You are correct. The part that I was missing was that I needed to setup the

it works.

Developer/Examples/JavaWebObjects/DatabaseSetup. And then you need to fixup
your derby.system.home property for each example.

You'll also note that some of the examples require that you build and install
the FrameWorks example first.

I am trying to build and run the WebObjects examples. I installed the
databases according to the instructions and built the example
frameworks.

The HelloWorld example works fine.

The examples (e.g. PetStore, ThinkMovies) build fine, but fail when
running and attempting to access the Derby databases. For example,
when I run ThinkMovies it complains that it can't find the movies
database even though a database of that name does appear in my
library's derby databases.

Has anyone run these examples successfully? If so, did you do
anything extra to get them to work?
