Thoughts on making the link to the Stable version more prominent? (We
generally promote the Fresh version more heavily, but I do have many
users ask me about the Stable version)

My proposition:
1/ on the home page, have 2 buttons Download fresh version and
Download stable version. The buttons could be colored differently.
2/ on each download page, have a link Fresh/Stable version: what does
mean to a page where the difference is explained. This link should be
in front of the title LibreOffice Fresh / Stable, above Main installer.

In the context of NSA/Prism, I think it is not a good idea to translate
automatically global website to a language that does not have its own NL
website. Because automatic translation probably means to use an external
service like Google translate. I think it should be better to explain to
the visitor how to do that himself at its own risk.

Using RequestPolicy extension for Firefox is very instructive.

 http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?lang=frversion=3.6.6

and to let the script to find which is the current OS of the user.

I just talked to Christian, who is working on improving the download
page. With the new version being rolled out soon, it will be possible to
link to a specific version and language, and have the operating system
 autodetect.

You could then set your static page with two versions in front of it.

 Would that work for you?

Probably but I need to test. So please do not remove the old download
script until we reach a satisfying state for the new download page.

Side note: I do not understand why we have a download page with only the
higher numbered version (currently 4.0.4) when we develop 2 code lines
in parallel. I think the user should have a clear and not restricted
choice between both versions when she arrives on the download page.

I don't know how in the end we came up with the current style of the
download page - it's been quite a while since that is in place. :) But I
hope the above solution works for you.

It's a long story :-)

as we get now i.e presenting the two versions available, see :
 http://fr.libreoffice.org/telecharger/
Is that what you mean by language dependent text?

oh - that's a new challenge then. What we are going to do is to have a
download page that looks like www.libreoffice.org/download/, with the
big green buttons pointing to exactly one version.

One workaround I see for your requirement is that you create a dedicated
page in front of the actual download page. This could look very similar
 to the current one.

If you link to the old version, you'd then add a link like

 http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?type=win-x86lang=frversion=3.6.6

and for the current version like

 http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?type=win-x86lang=frversion=4.0.4

People would see the page with the green buttons, like in the above
example. Would this work for you?

I am afraid it does not work because I need to add a link for each
available OS. It seems I can't use a link like

http://www.libreoffice.org/download/?lang=frversion=3.6.6

and to let the script to find which is the current OS of the user.

Side note: I do not understand why we have a download page with only the
higher numbered version (currently 4.0.4) when we develop 2 code lines
in parallel. I think the user should have a clear and not restricted
choice between both versions when she arrives on the download page.

So I prefer to keep the old download script and provide the user with
information about each available version. So she can decide which
version is the best for her.

Best regards

Hi Florian,

I created a page of type NabblePage which is defined by its name and
the number of the Nabble forum that you want embed in your LibreOffice page.
For example for fr-users it is 1744091.

Of course links to Nabble forums work but do not allow you to have them
in the menubar of your page.

The reason for these prefixes is that it is the only mean I found to
keep the link between all translations of a same testcase. Indeed each
testcase has its own ID so EN, DE and FR versions of a testcase gives
you 3 testcases which is not what you want when you run the same set of
tests in different languages.

[libreoffice-website] Too many tab entries or tab titles too long

2011-01-29 Thread Jean-Baptiste Faure
Hi,

In Firefox 3.6 under Ubuntu I need to fix a minimal fontsize at 15 pt in
order to obtain characters not too small.
With such kind of fontsize tab titles do not fit on one line.
The result is not readable :
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:Capture-LibO_TooManyTabEntries.png.

So, please, choose tab titles shorter or use less tabs

I obtain the same view as you with a fontsize of 14pt. But not with 15pt.

Another issue : clic Developers tab = page is correct but it is Get

Well - 15 pt as minimum fontsize is really, really big.
The number is big, not the actual character size. :-)
Sure you didn't apply a zoom factor in addition? Even with a font-size

Yes, no zoom.
Is it possible to make the height of the second navbar function of the

It's not the wrong date, it just uses a bad/confusing format
(DD/MM/) so it mixes german/european ordering with US/american

 - and there is no month number 13 :-)
You can also verify by clicking on the entry box to open the calendar to
 choose

But yes, there is a mixup between internal value and then what the

Yes you are right. From my side it was only to try this type of form field.
Nevertheless, SilverStripe should not try to write the date with the
name of the month.
