[weewx-user] UV Sensor Battery Indicator

2019-06-29 Thread gjr80
Hi,

Station specific hardware fields like battery levels/hardware states are very
much station and driver dependent. You may find some info in the comments at
the start of the your stations driver file. You could also try running WeeWX
directly (http://weewx.com/docs/usersguide.htm#Running_directly), this will
cause loop packets and archive records to be displayed on the console (loop
packets start with LOOP:, archive records start with REC:). It’s quite possible
the field you are after is appearing in the loop packets and archive records
but is not displayed in the default reports. If the field is there you can
display it’s current data in a report using the tag $current.field_name
(substituting field_name with the actual field name of course).

If you want aggregates or other historical data for the field of interest you
will need to customise your database to add the field you want to your archive
(http://weewx.com/docs/customizing.htm#archive_database) or repurpose an
existing archive field. You will then have access to various aggregates (max,
min, average etc) over various timeframes (day, week, month etc) in your
reports.

Re: [weewx-user] require additional external sensors. Max. Number of stations reached

2019-06-29 Thread p q
You don't have to go with commercial sensors and SDR. And you don't need
another raspberry Pi. Google for Raspberry Pi weather sensors and you
should be able find some examples:

I added my own extra temperature sensor. Project here:

[weewx-user] require additional external sensors. Max. Number of stations reached

2019-06-29 Thread Michael
Hello,
I use as weather station TFA-Nexus with 5 external sensors
(temperature+humidity). Now it is so that these 5 external sensors are not
sufficient and I would like to integrate further external sensors. The
TFA-Nexus only supports 5 external sensors.
Weewx runs on a Raspi 3b
If I understand all this correctly I need another Raspi and a USB stick
that can receive 433 MHz and 868 MHz data and of course more sensors.
The goal is to use up to 8 more external sensors.
Now my questions:
How are these other sensors differentiated? Does each sensor have an
individual feature which can be read out (e.g. serial number)?
Can anyone recommend me a USB stick and external sensors?
How can I ensure that the new sensors do not overlap with the already
existing sensors, or that confusion can occur?

Only as a clarification. I want to keep the existing weather station and
the data of the new sensors should only be displayed in weewx.

Many thanks for your tips and hints.

[weewx-user] Vantage Vue Wind Direction

2019-06-29 Thread 'Jake Sales' via weewx-user
Hello, I’m having a bit of a problem with wind directions. My Vantage reports
direction wind is from but Wunderground reports it as direction the wind is
blowing. However, it’s not converting it so I’m 180degrees out on Wunderground.

I’ve applied an offset in Weewx of 180 but it doesn’t seem to be reporting it
with the offset to Wunderground.

Does anyone have any ideas what to try?

My setup is Vantage Vue sensors-> Vantage Terminal -> Belfryboys USB data
logger -> Raspberry Pi 3 -> Weewx -> Wunderground

Thanks

[weewx-user] Re: Import Wind Direction from Vantage Pro2

2019-06-29 Thread shvman
Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Thought it was not possible to import directional
strings.. Wish I could do this myself. If you think of it and have some
time in the future AND it's not a big deal, I think it would help those of
us who are dumping Vantage software on old Windows boxes and moving our
stations to Linux.

BTW, the 'wee_import' program works great with a CSV file. All my other
data was successfully imported on a 'dry run'. This is one of the best and
most completely documented programs I've ever seen.

I'll hold up on this project and do the many other things I got hanging
here.

Thanks again, jjs

[weewx-user] UV Sensor Battery Indicator

2019-06-29 Thread Neil S
So I have just upgraded to 3.9.1 (on Raspberry Pi). Using the nice new
skin but cannot work out how to get the UV Sensor battery to show on the
web page. UV levels etc show OK but cant get battery status to show
(despite some config file fiddling)

(WRM88 weather station)

Is it possible?

Neil
