My Belchertown Skin has a
Raspberry

.

Unsure how it scales on a 5" screen, but it looks pretty good on my 3.5"
screen.

small screen (and likely, little to no interaction- so the current

Yes, I would say it is far too short. I would not query it more
frequently than (max_retries * sleep time) so that you don't get more than
one query/try/wait/try/wait/try loop running at the same time. I would
recommend once per minute and no faster.

The intent is not to get rapid wind readings. For that Davis has a way to
enable UDP broadcasts of wind data, but nobody's driver supports that as
far as I know.

I'm a big fan of RainMachine, and have installed three so far for family
and friends - The WeeWx integration works perfectly for hourly updates.
It's a very clean product (hardware, web UI, iOS app). I'm normally a DIY
guy and have lots of Pi's around the house automating various things, but
for the home irrigation, I don't regret at all going with a turnkey
solution.

Happy to answer any questions you have about RainMachine.

Interesting. No aspects of my OSPi are cloud hosted except for the
forecasting - which I'm not using since I don't use the Zimmerman methods
or anything. My app version is 2.2.0 and firmware is 2.1.9 (3).

I do not have my system connected to opensprinkler.com in any fashion (I'm
not even logged in). So I'm 100% local only.

Das Programm weewx habe ich auf einem Laptop mit Lubuntu 16.04 und

Ob das richtig installiert ist wies ich nicht aber es lässt sich

Nun habe ich in der weewx.conf etwas eingefügt wie in einer anderen
 Zeile beschrieben.

weewx StdReport exits if USB disconnected

 # Keeping retrying!

 loop_on_init = 1

Danach wird im Terminal alle 60 Sekunden folgendes angezeigt.

Unable to load driver: Unable to find USB device

Hello with the driver my station has been working since last year in May.
I would only be interested in whether the driver also works with the new
version 4 or 4.1 with Phyton 3.
I don't dare to install the new version 4 if the driver doesn't work with
Python 3.

Pat, by default (these days anyway), the UI code and the forecasting
feature are cloud hosted, although the UI
is just a web directory and is available to use locally, and the forecast
piece (percentage adjustments) can also be hosted locally
if you want that included, aside form the fact you have to query a forecast
service for that data. I ran one for a couple of years and
didn't have any problems other than RPi/DNS sorts of things, but those are
my fault, not the product. I'm going to be buying another
one shortly, since I moved and left the other one behind. I added a cheap
SSD and USB<->SSD adapter to avoid SD card issues.

I see that weewx is unable to load the driver because it cannot find a
module named 'serial'. My station is connected to my computer via USB, and
in setup the instructions said to use 'serial' for that connection. I don't
know what to do next. Is it because I chose ttyusb0 and I should choose a
different one, and if so, how do I know which one? I appreciate all of the
help.

Not doable by a config file, but you can edit the
skins/Belchertown/records/index.html.tmpl file and remove this section of
code

to get rid of it.

[weewx-user] Re: weewx and opensprinkler

2020-06-12 Thread Pat
I've been using OpenSprinkler Pi (the DIY version) for 5 years and have
never had a problem with it. I was an early adopter with the hardware
(interestingly enough, the creator is local to me though we've never met).

Best part is no cloud dependencies and reliable timing. No problems at all
here. I turn the Pi off over the winter to save the SD card from un-needed
usage.

Hallo Günther

so sieht das in meiner config aus

[WH23xx]
# This section is for Fine Offset WH23xx stations

# The model name such as Tycon, or TP2700
model = Tycon TP2700

polling_mode = PERIODIC

polling_interval = 60

# The driver to use
driver = user.wh23xx

[weewx-user] Weewx/Belchertown, getting rid of records?

2020-06-12 Thread 'NanoG5Kite' via weewx-user
Hi,

as the Ambient Weather/Ecowitt Sun Sensor is somewhat unreliable, I would
like to get rid of the Sun/UV records, as those are definietly wrong.

Is it possible by modifying any conf-file?

Thanks,

Matthias

[weewx-user] Re: Weewx und Renkforce WH2315

2020-06-12 Thread EdwinZ
Hi,

As I did not get Matthew's driver working, I looked further and found that
'userbogd' fixed a log_trackback import error (
https://github.com/userbogd/weewx-wh23xx ), and then I found out that I ran
into Python3 issues and fixed the code for Python3 support on top of
Bogdan's fix (https://github.com/EdwinGH/weewx-wh23xx )

Hope it works for you as well.

Edwin

[weewx-user] Re: Driver crash without logs - Weewx

2020-06-12 Thread Florentin Prevost
Hi @vince,

I just forked your repo to make a change on rain converter because I'm use
metric unit. That's the one change that I make.

At the moment, WLL driver make a request to my WLL each 3 secondes, maybe
short ?

I'm use a private server to host Weewx and make request to my home via my
router (opened port 80 to my private server only)

I put a line after data = r.json() to see if Weewx attempt to have json
data. @Jacques told me to put this for try.

Thank's all for your support.
