[weewx-user] Re: WeeWx stops doing its thing

2024-06-09 Thread G7LTT
"Doing its thing" would be whatever the app does; collect stats, populate
the DB, create the web pages, upload the webpages. Y'know? "do its thing" .

[weewx-user] Error getting data from Vantage2 station

2024-06-09 Thread Sanjiv B
After EVERY record obtained from the station the following error is in the
log. The weewx process basically restarts after every record.

The strange thing is that when I start weewxd without any parameters the
records get downloaded quickly. The data shows up on the screen which is
annoying but it does work properly.

Here is the log

[weewx-user] Re: How to publish HTML from weewx to WordPress

2024-06-09 Thread vince
If you're really using sftp.wp.com then their docs suggest you might try a
path of just / and perhaps that will work. You might need to interactively
login and try 'pwd' to see what the server side thinks your path is on that
side. If that doesn't work then I have no idea how specifically their
hosting works, but my guess is they have some kind of forums there you can
ask on. This one has to have come up before.

After restarting weewx, I receive the following error messages.
After 2 report cycles the error messages have disappeared.
Is there a solution to combat these errors?

[weewx-user] How to publish HTML from weewx to WordPress

I have been running WeeWx 4.x. on a Pi3 for several years. Now, I am trying

I was referring to the lack of an @property decorator on the hardware_name

Eric - I do not understand what further updates you are expecting to
monitor for. See Tom's reply with now to fix your problem. This is a
two-minute thing to do if you just follow the wiki instructions.

Recently upgraded from a RaspberryPi 3 to a Pri 4, I also upgraded
WEEWX from 4 to 5- also installed the Belchertown extension. Seems to be
running - I do not see any thing in the syslog that indicates a big
 problem-

however, the time stamp (and data) on the home page of my web site (
www.OakOrchardWeather.NET) is not updating every 30 minutes. The time
stamp on the FTP'd index.html file *does* increment every 30 minutes.

I have looked over the wiki report regarding the Vantage driver
 effecting updating.
I have also tried the weectl device --dump and weectl --clear-memory
 commands without success.

 Syslog file attached.
 Screen shot file attached.

[weewx-user] Re: WeeWx stops doing its thing

2024-06-09 Thread vince
Not understanding the wording of "doing its thing". What thing is it
doing then not doing ?

You might read https://github.com/weewx/weewx/wiki/view-logs#journalctl for
how to get all the weewx info out of the journal logs...

If you're referring to the station registration issue, yes it was fixed in
February.

If you're referring to a different bug, you're going to have to explain a
bit in plainer terms

Re: [weewx-user] WeeWx stops doing its thing

2024-06-09 Thread Tom Keffer
This is too small a snippet of the log to get much information. We really
need to see the start up sequence.

Please set debug=1, restart weewx, then post the log through the first
reporting cycle.

2024-06-09 Thread Tom Keffer
This is caused by a bug in the weatherflow driver. See this thread
.

I think it was fixed, but I'm not sure. Try updating the driver.

Re: [weewx-user] Error in weewxd at start

2024-06-09 Thread Tom Keffer
Your message is a little confusing. From what you wrote, it looks like you
created a virtual environment, then activated it, then tried to run weewxd.

However, the normal sequence is to create the virtual environment, activate
it, *install WeeWX*, then run weewxd.

Did you install WeeWX?

Use a Raspberry Pi and Weewx with the latest version and the Belchertown

After restarting weewx, I receive the following error messages.
After 2 report cycles the error messages have disappeared.
Is there a solution to combat these errors?

[weewx-user] WeeWx stops doing its thing

2024-06-09 Thread G7LTT
I'm running V5 and an Ambient WS2000. Until about a week ago everything was
fine. WeeWX was doing its thing about every 5 minutes. Then for no apparent
reason it stopped doing its thing.

After about an hour or so of faultless running it simply stops doing its
thing. But yet the WeeWx job is still running. Below is a paste of the only
logfile I can find pulled from the journal. As you can see, there's noting
reported by WeeWx.

I've run it interactively at the console to see if it pukes out an error
and nothing there either. It just stops.

http://wx.ni2o.ampr.org will show you some lage gaps in the data. This is
where WeeWX has stopped/stalled and I've restarted the daemon.

Ideas?

Thanks

Mark

[weewx-user] Re: HTML page refresh problem

2024-06-09 Thread 'Peter Fletcher' via weewx-user
If clearing the browser cache works, as you imply it does, the problem
would appear to be that, somewhere in the chain between you and the site,
an assumption is being propagated that the data is stable (for more than
the relatively short periods for which you want it to be). Have you tried
using Refresh in any of your browsers - In most browsers, this forces
a refresh of cached data from its remote source. Failing this, you could
put a Meta command in the HTML source for the skin you are using, to
refresh its content when it opens, and/or every 5 minutes.
