an other question;
if i use my owner broker Mqtt, can I install it on the same RPi where
weewx-belchertown is installed?
will RPi hold the charge?
now I am beginning tests on an other RPi ( but I should also declare it
with dynddns, true ?)
I am waiting for you for the remarks.

[weewx-user] 1st try with MQTT on belchertown

2019-12-15 Thread Patrick Tranchant
hello all,

I am trying to run MQTT in skin Belchertown; I have any problem

1 - I use a free broker  "Hivemq".

2 - my weewx.conf:

 [[MQTT]]
server_url = mqtt://broker.hivemq.com:1883/
topic = weather
unit_system = METRIC
binding = archive, loop
aggregation = aggregate

3 - my skin.conf:

 # MQTT Websockets defaults
mqtt_websockets_enabled = 1
mqtt_websockets_host = "broker.hivemq.com"
mqtt_websockets_port = 8000
mqtt_websockets_ssl = 0
mqtt_websockets_topic = "weather/loop"
disconnect_live_website_visitor = 180

that works well, but I have these message, sometimes

Connected to weather station live. Data received 15 décembre 2019, 11:06:37
= > good message
Connected. Waiting for
data.
= > it is normal ?
Connecting to weather station real time
data.= > it is normal ?
Lost connection
x

= > it is normal ?

you can on my station : http://jurassikpat.ddns.net/weewx/belchertown

thanks for your comment

hello

good, I found everything alone.
I made a mistake on the image file name in PNG in index.html.tmpl
wrong: weeksoilTemp1.png
correct: week*temp*soilTemp1.png
now is OK for week, month and Year.

2019-01-31 Thread Patrick Tranchant

Hello,
well, I tested the first driver byows-3.py, it does not change anything,
still no wind and rain records.
With the one named "BYOWS-RPi.py, I have many values for wind and rain, I
first tested with the command:
  python BYOWS-RPi.py = OK;
after i renamed it to byows.py to embed it in "weewx" with the same result; now
I think that we need to make some modifications so that it is functional
and inscribes the data in the sqlite database for "weewx"; tell me what I
have to do.
thank you so much

while time.time() - start_time <= self.interval:

this prevents zeroing (I think); can it help to find the problem?

hello Gary,
for the rain: I put an LED on the connection of the rain gauge, like that
with each passage in front of the magnet the Led lights up (verification of
the wiring), but the rain_count remains with zero.
I have the impression (but I'm not a programmer) that the problem is the
same as wind_count are not you in my opinion?
I search with my means, by doing a small program just for the rain ... it's
not won for me.

I put the new byows.py, it is running actualy.
I put for you the link that says as I done the weather-station:

I built the weatherStation that was on the newspaper " Magpi of sept-oct

I put the files in attach:
syslog and a result with my scrypt (measures)

I put back the previous driver.

2019-01-13 Thread Patrick Tranchant
hi again me

I modified weewx.conf by

# This section controls the origin of derived values.

[StdWXCalculate]
   * ignore_zero_wind = False*
[[Calculations]]

and since, I have value for windDir and windGustDir, (different according
to the orientation of the wind vane);
I also noticed that windGustDir (in the base) takes the previous value of
winDir.
but always nothing for winSpeed and windGust.

hi Gary

now, I can say that the values of weewx and of my python script are the
same.
that, it is good; but I don't understand why the wind is null with weewx.

2019-01-11 Thread Patrick Tranchant
hello Gary,

as much for me; I did not read well (again) usUnits to change in byows.py
and not in weewx.conf;
I originally came back in weewx.conf.

I tell you the rest.;
However, the data is now in US in the database.Now I remember why I put
METRIC
in weewx.conf (it was to compare weewx values and my python scripts).
Now I know that with both values (US or METRIC) it works.

2019-01-09 Thread Patrick Tranchant
hello

new file is installed : OK, I transfered the database for METRIC

watch modifications in weewx.conf:

[StdConvert]

# DO NOT MODIFY THIS VALUE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
target_unit = METRIC# Options are 'US', 'METRICWX', or 'METRIC'

[[StandardReport]]

# The StandardReport uses the 'Standard' skin, which contains the
# images, templates and plots for the report.
skin = Standard
[[[Units]]]
Groups
group_altitude = meter
group_speed2 = km_per_second2
group_pressure = mbar
group_rain = cm
group_rainrate = cm_per_hour
group_temperature = degree_C
group_degree_day = degree_C_day
group_speed = km_per_second

I modified also "skin.conf " with the same values; I had to do it, right

watch the result: it is best.
