Hi Kigs,

Could you add the following to the WestNileNet:

Pamela Paparu : pamela.obe...@hotmail.com

She was shocked at the scarcity of women on the executive of the newly proposed
WNDA, and thus got highly motivated to join this humble cause.

[WestNileNet] Lado

2009-09-08 Thread Caleb Alaka
Ronald,

It seems those interested in the Lado stuff are quite few and the audience is
either bored or they have decided to politely ignore the topic. I just wanted
to know whether Lado Kingdom had an army, a council of elders, a distinct
language, and a king. If it had a king, was it hereditary. I wonder why other
pre-colonial Kingdoms survived the colonial tsunami but not Lado. For instance
we have well documented resistances in History. the Maji Maji, the Zulu, the
Banyoro, e.t.c what of Lado. How come it was easily wiped out of the world map?

[WestNileNet] Let's be careful about Lado state thing....

2009-09-08 Thread gerald matua
Dear All friends of West Nile,

I am sorry i have been out of touch for some time now. My greatest appreciation
goes to those gallant members of the community who have been raising funds for
the hunger project. I am very proud of them all. I will be getting in touch
with Anguzu for my contributions. However , what stuck me was the manner in
which the issue of Lado state is being pushed onto this forum and how this may
affect our important mission of pulling the region from its current state of
slow growth.

Dear friends as Alaka has rightly observed, there is lack of attention  to the
lado postings. In my view this has not been because people do not know about
it. Infact many people know alot however, the manner it is being brought here
is threatening to turn this apolitical , non partisan and non religious
organisation into a rebel realing organisation and as citizen of Uganda and
West Nile region , the seceesion  (break way) ideas being pushed should stop
imediately i may sound rude but ... i think we are better off thinking
about how we can use our ideas of building the region than thinking of forming
a new state.. My view is let us stick to the point of non- political
organisation and as you all know ... creation of states or better still break
away states has and always will not be an easy and enviable thing... so please
those on the statehood matters and rebellion should form their own list serve
and let the majority attend to social /economic
and educational issues in the region.

I am abit tough but i think ... i do not want to see the Opoka's ( former Guild
President , MUK)  from the list serve as the reparcation are obvious. We as a
region already have enough problems to grapple with.. so the state thing is a
total repice for disaster the majority ... what is your view... are we
diverting or not from the original view...

Your comments  and suggestions are welcom!!!

Thank you

I made the corrections but saved the revisions on another computer. Left in a
hurry and just realized it. PLUS I did a write up on the Forum which I also
saved on another computer...will send both documents tomorrow here.

Hope you are having "a ball" and taking notes on the Forum to add to the write
up - hehehe.

Magi the Bill has not been read in Parliament yet

CORRECTION:  The historic meeting and Reconciliation Ceremony was also to honor
the memory of victims of the war while speaking to efforts and a commitment by
a younger generation of "First Sons and First Daughters" to “correct” mistakes
made by their parents. In addition, the meeting and Reconciliation Ceremony
spoke to the responsibility of "First Sons and First Daughters" to seek Truth
and Reconciliation for their nations of origin following years of conflict
between opposing parties, as Jaffar Amin is advocating for and working towards
in Uganda by encouraging the Executive and Legislature to pass into law the
National reconciliation Bill 2009 which is pending in parliament; However
Jaffar Amin is willing and able to Spearhead participating in the country’s
National Reconciliation Committee.

Among several objectives, Uganda’s National Reconciliation Committee aims to a)
Establish a vibrant and strong collaboration with all political, cultural and
religious leaders. b) Conduct a nation-wide symbolic reconciliation as part of
its mandated reconciliation activities and encourage or facilitate
inter-communal reconciliation symbolic activities within the different
communities throughout the nation.
