Hi John,
I will tell you that the answer to west nile power shortages is
getting FEDERO for region. That means local revenue is used according
to the priorities of the people in the region. As a friend of west
niles, it is very painful for me to see all tobacco revenues coming to
Kampala, without a coin back to the region. I have been in texas for
the last one month. Man, each coin here in taxes counts to social
services
So federo is the way to go

ELECTRICITY IN ARUA
Dear brothers and sisters,
In the past I have written so much about how electricity will change West
Nile region if we had one or get there finally.
In the 80's while I was teaching in Kenyan village of Kissii Disctrict in
thwe Nyanza province, I want to tell you guys that when you drive through
Kissii at night, you will think you are some kind of city. The same thing
is in Kericho, Nakuru, etc.
Today, if you are in Kenya, you want to plug an equipment for a small
business, there is electricity deep in the village. Those of you who able
to travel should one day take a group tour of Westen Kenya, see for
yourself what I am talking about.
If we had electricity in West Nile, you will soon see small businesses
springing up. It is small busineses that create jobs. Whether they hire one
of two, three, four or more employees, we will be on the way to address
the unemployment situation in our region where 90% of the population leaves
on subsitence farming.
if we were all focused and work as a team to promote enterprenuership, we
will have more job creartors than people who are seeking jobs. The market
potential in DR Congo and South Sudan for goods and services is endless.
If we have well trained and educated workforce, the position of West Nile
alone in this triad enclave is very strategic for delivering goods and
services in either DR Congo Or South Sudan.
The unfortunate part I see in this forum, we are not willing to discuss
strategic ideas, nor are people willing to share substancial knowledge.
Where do we go from here?

Christine, without prejucing the case I hope that a very strong deterrance
will result from the proceedings in the medical council.Actually I would
have preferred the law takes its full effect.

The last I heard about the electricity issue was yesterday that we most
likely will have this plugged in by January 2012.I think that we are still
lacking in our demands as far as the entrepreneurial drive is concerned
and
this in my view strides the entire spectrum of many people. There seems to
be insufficient push to promote the development of hydro power resources
in
West Nile.Kuluva hospital has shown that we can indeed develop this
resource to our benefit. The energy managers in West Nile need to be more
practive and think more into promoting rural electrification. It appears to
me that the generation and extension of energy in the region is seen as a
priviledge rather than an engine for economic development. As soon as we
dissect ourselves from this line of thinking,we should have better
