These are very close friends whom we waved off on the last day. The one who
has been confirmed alive is Captain Andruga George Buga who hails from
Koboko and the one has now been confirmed dead is Captain Leti
from Maracha, his famous name, am still trying to get his second name. He
was the most senior pilot we have around and his helicopter is the one that
got burnt completely and the newspaper has also carried the story that the
bodies of the pilots have been recovered and mourners have gathered at his
resident at Bugonga in Entebbe. What a big loss to us, May his soul rest in

As Robert said, this country has alot of explanation do given the events.

These are very close friends whom we waved off on the last day. The one who
has been confirmed alive is  Captain Andruga George Buga who hails from Koboko
and the one has now been confirmed dead is Captain Leti from Maracha, his
famous name, am still trying to get his second name. He was the most senior
pilot we have around and his helicopter is the one that got burnt completely
and the newspaper has also carried the story that the bodies of the pilots
have been recovered and mourners have gathered at his resident at Bugonga in
Entebbe. What a big loss to us, May his soul rest in peace.

My condolences to the community and the family of the deceased. May his
soul rest in eternal peace. This is a great loss to our community. Very
disturbing to read in the news papers that the person who was involved in
acquiring junk choppers is appointed to lead the investigation into the
accidents. I guess the country does not have very qualified technical
Airforce personnel or even at least Aviation personnel who are
knowledgeable with such issues to lead the investigation.

Dear my brothers and sisters, we mourn our brother and pray for the immediate
family as we continue to loose people in the name of patriotism. Who ever is
heading the inquiry, let us not bother. It is just one of the ways of buying
time. Have we got previous reports on the mysterious deaths publicly released.
Including of our own Late Ayume. I for one has not seen or heard about the
reports. I can understand Christine your pain. May GOD alone strengthen us. Let
us not waste time on reports that will never see the light of the day to
escalate our frustration and we reactly in a way they again turn to victimise

Sad to hear that one of our own is among the dead! Condolences to the
family and relatives! May his soul rest in peace!

But really wonder when these wars will be ending. From 1979 Uganda has
never stopped fighting. One of the reasons why the country is not so
developed is because a lot of money is wasted on such useless things like
wars. Now Uganda can compare with America which is always at war with its
enemies all over the world. But America is a superpower and has got the
resources to fight their wars although we know that in this time of Obama
he is paying dearly because by the time he came to power the coffers were
eroded by the sexed up war in Iraq and then in Afghanistan Does
Uganda really need wars? Up to today I am still trying to understand the
rationale behind Uganda's full embracing of the the war in Somalia...Many
of our brothers and sisters died in Congo fighting a dubious war not
sanctioned by parliament...hmn!

Robert it so disheartening. So far, two people are now missing and one of them

another information in two hours, let us wait to hear what comes up.

Thank you for the info. I wont mention the names of a few friends there for
the avoidance of anxiety on my part as well.

Let me pretend they were not even there in the first place.

Dear all, this is just to let you know that a number of our home boys

safe. Since they left, one of them had kept in touch with us until they left
Nyanuki and the last time he sent us message was Sunday night and yesterday
morning is when we heard the helicopters went missing. The mood is very sobre
in Entebbe and we have not yet received any conclusive information about the
people saved and those missing. But we have been trying the numbers and a few
minutes ago a different voice replied something, we are not sure about it
what he said.Let us keeping praying and hoping for the best.

Re: [WestNileNet] home boys in missing helicopters

2012-08-14 Thread Christine Munduru
I managed to talk to one of them personally, he saved all(7) in his
helicopter, they walked night and day and survived the animals, he said the
forest they walked through cannot be compared to the one of garamba,
arrived when they were so dehydrated and they were taken to hospital, by
the time I talked to him, they were in Nairobi. They will be in Uganda any
time. But the story of the second person seems to be very unclear.
As Robert said, this country has alot of explanation do given the events. I
really hope that our leaders will demand for serious explanation to this as
right now the country is focused on gold medal celebration.
