[Wicket-user] DOJO and AutoComplete / Populate on textfield

2005-09-25 Thread Andrew Lombardi
I know that Wicket is looking to do a lot more things with AJAX, and
using DOJO from what I can gather. Are there any examples of easily
using Wicket and Dojo to do something similar to Google Suggest?
Possibly by using a List element on Wicket side, and ajaxian stuff on
the other end?

Thanks!

Not (yet) with Dojo I believe, the scriptaculous components have been
created by Ryan Sonnek.

Re: [Wicket-user] adding children

2005-09-25 Thread Johan Compagner
yes it could but no for the second child
Then we have to have another check for this
Because the first child is just set as this.children

when the second child is added then this.children is not an array
so we need the current behaviour anyway
Only when adding the third (and more) we could use system array copy
But as i said then we have to do another check if the size() 1
but i don't think many performance will be reached by this.
In the past i did some test but some times just looping was even faster then array copy
(because array copy is a native function with its native overhead)
Don't know the current status.
On 9/25/05, Justin Lee [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

System.arraycopy().And perhaps it could use a List or a Set ratherthan an array since many of the operations are already provided.Likewise children_get() does full array scans looking for an item by IDwhen using a map would give much better performance. But perhaps it was
decided that the lists would likely be small enough not to matter.ButI can see this kind of thing adding up to some significant time in somecases.Maybe there are some good decisions behind this code, but it
doesn't appear to be documented anywhere.Anyway, not to nit pick, I just saw that code and had to bring it up.--Justin Leehttp://www.antwerkz.comAIM : evan chooly

yes because then you have the method:
urlFor(final String pageMapName, final Class pageClass, final PageParameters parameters)

but you need to be in a request (You need to have a RequestCycle)
So still don't know what you are trying to do.

And further, which version of Wicket do you use? What is the encoding

[Wicket-user] Wicket, Tomcat, and file descriptors

2005-09-25 Thread Dan Gould
I've just moved my wicket app over to a server with Tomcat for deployment.
After leaving it up for a few days, I can no longer connect. The error
logs say I'm out of file descriptors.

When I got to /proc/[PID]/fd and ls -l, I see a whole bunch of lines like:
lr-x-- 1 dlg dlg 64 Sep 25 05:20 223 -
/home/dlg/tomcat/jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9/webapps/norgould/WEB-INF/lib/wicket-1.1-rc1.jar
lr-x-- 1 dlg dlg 64 Sep 25 05:20 224 -
/home/dlg/tomcat/jakarta-tomcat-5.5.9/webapps/norgould/WEB-INF/lib/wicket-1.1-rc1.jar

So, it looks like Tomcat keeps trying to load wicket and never releases
the old ones.

conf/context.xml just has:
WatchedResourceWEB-INF/web.xml/WatchedResource in the Context

While web.xml has this (from the SpringApplication2 example:
servlet
servlet-nameSpringApplication2/servlet-name
!-- DO NOT USE YOUR WICKET APPLICATION. USE SPRING'S
DISPATCHER

 SERVLET --
servlet-class
org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet
/servlet-class
/servlet

I'm completely lost (and know nothing about servlets/Tomcat). Any ideas?

Thank you very much,
Dan
