[Bug 25269] Add support to embed commons videos in wikimedia blogs
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25269 --- Comment #2 from Michael Dale d...@ucsc.edu 2010-11-10 16:01:24 UTC --- I agree ;) .. The TimedMediaHandler adds support via custom display type to the page url so it would be something similar to printable url parameter that make the page only display the player. iframe src=http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Nice_People_Medium.ogv?iframeplayer=yes;/iframe We can do away with the height width and just have the iframe take up 100% of its window per some of the iframe proxy work I have done for kaltura side of mwEmbed usage: http://www.kaltura.org/apis/html5lib/kplayer-examples/Player_IFrameResizable.html The iframe system is better and quickly replacing object since it supports a cross domain messaging system for emulating video player api, can also work without any hosting page js and can seamlessly switch between flash and html5 players ( important once Adobe ships vp8 / WebM in flash ) The industry is moving toward iframe embeds ie youtube http://apiblog.youtube.com/2010/07/new-way-to-embed-youtube-videos.html and others. What I suggest in the mean time to support iframe embed is the following: iframe src=http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Nice_People_Medium.ogv?iframeplayer=yeswithJS=MediaWiki:MwEmbed.js;/iframe We already have a lot of these withJS links floating around so once we and update to the html5 player extension ( Timed media handler ) the gadget will know to let the extension take over. At that point we can stop appending the js url param, but if the withJS is included or not it the embed urls will remain valid into the future. If we need to change the url that hosts the mwEmbed javascript payloads we can do that easily just by modifying the MediaWiki:MwEmbed.js page. For example copying a static version to be hosted on cluster servers via mediawiki js page ( like other gadgets ). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25863 --- Comment #1 from Jack Phoenix j...@countervandalism.net 2010-11-10 18:27:47 UTC --- This is already mostly done, see SocialProfile.php (http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/extensions/SocialProfile/SocialProfile.php?view=markup). As I noted in the source code comments, for some reason the hooked function for user_relationship table updates only half of the rows. I'd rather have that fixed first and then uncomment these bits of code, but quite honestly I have no idea whatsoever what's causing that behavior. I tried asking Werdna earlier this year about what might be causing this (see http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Thread:User_talk:Werdna/SocialProfile,_RenameUser_and_RenameUserSQL_hook) as he's the developer who added the RenameUserSQL hook into the RenameUser extension, but he didn't have any idea either. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 25861] Formerly well working #ask queries do not work after update
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25861 --- Comment #1 from Markus Krötzsch mar...@semantic-mediawiki.org 2010-11-10 19:29:15 UTC --- What I notice when looking at the page Infantil is that it is completely blank, even though it contains normal wiki text that should be shown in any case. There seems to be a problem that is not just about SMW queries here. You should try to remove the query template and check if this actually changes something. And (if the template is still suspected to be the cause of the problem) you should experiment by using the template with a fixed pagename instead of {{PAGENAME}} (does the Infantil page work if you use Primaria as a page name?). Otherwise, you may also try and remove some of the other text or templates and see when the rest of the text re-appears. Another way of debugging such problems is to de-activate extensions in LocalSettings.php and see what happens. This can help to find out which of your installed extensions causes the problem (if any). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

(Opera Mobile -- not Mini!) Pull up a page on en.wikipedia.org or ja.wikipedia.org and switch back to desktop view. Tap into the search box to trigger text input. Type some stuff, then hit the 'done' button or click outside the field to close it. You should now see the popup menu with typeahead options come up. Clicking the magnifying glass button in the search field currently does two things: 1) focus the search field 2) submit the form This focusing appears to be problematic in Opera Mobile as it triggers text input mode, which can cause the input method / on-screen keyboard to display. This is very visibly disruptive with the regular Android keyboard in landscape mode (where it takes over the whole screen), and apparently is also quite nasty with Japanese input methods. It looks like just taking out the focus call should get it working. [Bug 25870] AntiSpoof not working?
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25870 --- Comment #1 from Platonides platoni...@gmail.com 2010-11-10 23:40:03 UTC --- The Låura Fiorucci spoof should have been blocked by the extension (check in r76483) The others weren't caught by the extension. I updated the list in [1]. Only the æ spoof remains active, since it would need converting one character into two. There exists a function (mergePairs) for converting two codepoints into one, but doesn't seem to exist any easy way for splitting one codepoint into two (everything is done in term of codepoints there). Note that [2] added a rule for changing Æ and æ to A. I think that at least æ should map to ae. Æ is quite similar to just A, though. Once that's fixed, the extension at WMF should be updated and the mappings rebuilt. 1- http://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Extension%3AAntiSpoof%2FEquivalence_sets%2Fequivset_1action=historysubmitdiff=362640oldid=361648 2- http://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Extension:AntiSpoof/Equivalence_sets/equivset_1diff=361646oldid=251667 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

If we are talking about changing how the feature works rather than just what color the box is, I think we really need to do away with the box and add styling to the my talk link in the user tools. If liquid threads is enabled this link shows how many unread messages exist - we can follow along those lines by at least using that area of the screen to indicate there are some unread messages. The CologneBlue skin had the you have new messages kind of as a line by the my talk link.
