https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32551 --- Comment #6 from Mark A. Hershberger m...@everybody.org 2011-12-27 15:33:32 UTC --- (In reply to comment #3) Look at the wikitech thread. [Bug 32858] Do not parse .js/.css pages and save their parsed content in database tables
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32858 --- Comment #30 from Michael M. listenle...@gmail.com 2011-12-27 08:53:27 UTC --- (In reply to comment #18) Not parsing the script as wikitext DO NOT make possible to circumvent Extension:SpamBlacklist because links are not links. As I pointed out in r105664#c27321, it DOES make it possible: When you transclude a .js/.css-page in a normal page the links are links again, even if they aren't rendered as links in the .js-page. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. Until that happens (and even after, for quite some time, given the extant body of non-gadget scripts), we still need some method of tracking script usage. Well, if we're talking about a new feature. Then I don't think there's a need to support user scripts (if that's possible in a good way at all). If you're referring to /* [[links]] */ and Special:WhatLinksHere.. well, I'd say keep using that until gadgets are the common way for creating scripts. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. Yes, the full word will be highlighted even if only a single character is changed. This has been the behaviour of the diff engine on Wikipedia since 2002, except in Chinese, Japanese and Thai text. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30234 --- Comment #3 from Reedy s...@reedyboy.net 2011-12-27 22:35:40 UTC --- I suppose this needs to go via mediawiki-l to find out what we need Like most things in $wgExtensionCredits, accepting an array/string, and the name of the dependancy MUST be the same as the 'name' of the other one Depends makes sense per my This extension cannot function without this other extenson Recommends/Suggested can be nicely merged as being extras depends and optional would be fairly apparent Listing dependencies is one thing, there will be work needed Adding the information (when decided on naming) sooner rather than later should be fine, and be ignored, so can start going in whenever, for extensions that have them (SM* etc) can start building it. Per Olivier, order shouldn't matter, as long as all extensions needed are loaded after LocalSettings (and then any other files you randomly include, like Initialise/Common Settings in WMFs case) An iteration over all extensions would be needed to build the list of loaded extensions, and while we are at it, get the list of dependencies (optional we don't care about) Filter the list of dependancies for dupes (or insert so we can't get dupes), then an array_diff ( array_diff( $needed, $loaded )) against loaded, and if count 0 array(2) { [Extension1]= array(2) { [0]= string(10) Extension2 [1]= string(10) Extension3 } [Extension4]= array(1) { [0]= string(10) Extension2 } } We can then backwards look at all the extensions that aren't loaded, and pull out a list of names of which need extensions and come up with a simple list of dependancies, stopping code execution from going any furthere -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. (In reply to comment #29) One more thing which may break when fixing this bug is the hack used on [[Template:Selfsubst/now string]] to produce an auto updating string (e.g. for version of scripts).
