Since them Zuul has been very slow to trigger the build. After investigating with upstream (James E. Blair from OpenStack), it turns out Zuul wait for the results of JSON API calls which are meant to verify whether a job exist before triggering it. We have found a few API calls that took 2 to 4 minutes which would lock Zuul internal scheduler. In the end, it would be spending most of its time waiting. This is a major issue. A workaround is to skip the API call. The list of my uploads is _very_ slow to update with thumbnails, both when I first downloaded and signed in, and when I pulled to refresh. This may because I have many uploads (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:ListFiles/Steven_Walling) and was downloading over 3G. 2. The order of uploads was wrong when I first signed in (it was oldest to newest). This seems to have been fixed now? Anyway, we should probably try to replicate that, since it's the incorrect experience. 3. Sometimes the thumbnails generated don't match the listed file. That is something being done by Zuul very often and prevents it from doing anything else. Jenkins had at least a thread at 100% CPU and the main process (java) was reporting 100% CPU too. Looking at the code in the method, it seems that it cannot fail to return an array. So I started looking around and I thought, that because the class is abstract, and the method is static, the issue mentioned at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/999066/ may be the cause. At least in the use cases I'm familiar with. On Meta, this change made FuzzyBot remove large swathes of carefully translated text from the readers' view. For example, here because of a missing wikilink in one case and a typo in one number in the other: https://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions/FuzzyBotoffset=20130430101100limit=16target=FuzzyBot . And I'm not optimistic that these translations will be restored soon in a manual cleanup - it appears that Nemo's repeated call on Translators-l for volunteers to participate in this work has not met with enough resonance. I am not familiar with the HTML/CSS formatting problem on Wikidata which appears to form the rationale for https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/52215/ , but was its solution really worth all those detrimental effects on readers and the extra work required from translation volunteers? Try e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MarkAHershberger/Music_Sandbox : wait for the player to appear and click play. I'm on Ubuntu and so far only other developers on Linux have confirmed hearing a crackle, so it might be Linux only. It's not the MediaWiki media player; other .ogg files play fine e.g. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Audio_files_of_medieval_music , and if I download the .ogg generated by Score it crackles whether I play it in Firefox's built in .ogg player, the rhythmbox player, or the gstreamer pipeline. If I download the .midi file and generate it myself using the same timidity MIDI converter that the Score extension uses (e.g. `/usr/bin/timidity -Ov --output-file=timidity_out.ogg sample.midi`) it has the same crackle. It's not the OGG format: other .ogg files such as /usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo/desktop-logout.ogg play fine, and the crackle remains if I convert to a .wav file instead of a .ogg file. The real proof that the problem lies in timidity would be to inspect the waveform of the raw output file for crackles. timidity bug reports suggest using its --output-24bit option for higher quality.
