I think I've narrowed something down... new error but still related to the
Title or page name.
I upgraded to SF 2.6 and now, instead of getting the Catchable fatal error,
and when going through the captcha page, I get returned to the same form with a
red-text error message near the top that says:
The specified target page _ is invalid.
and all field values for the form have been reset.
Now, in the form I do the one-step process and set the page name myself with
the SF markup:
{{{info |page name={{#nextpagename:SusForm[Statement Under Scrutiny]}} }}}
{{#nextpagename}} is a parser function that returns a page name. This works
fine after the initial submit but after the final submit from the captcha
screen, the name argument that gets passed to nextpagename is null and so it
returns an empty string. This worked before the upgrade with the same captcha
setup.
*** So, SusForm[Statement Under Scrutiny] evaluates to null when submitting
from a captcha screen.

This also brings up the question of actually trying to use the character in terms of the norm and ccnorm functions of AbuseFilter. If a character wasn't in the list, like this case, would it attempt to match it to the actual character or throw an error since it's not in the list? If I were to use a normalized rule for the word I first mentioned, Пиздец, I would end up with ΠИ3дEU. Would this rule still match the word? Wanted to create an offline copy of nlwiki; but this bug is, for this usage, a
showstopper.
The rendering is awful (but this is nothing new), for example:

... and such type of templates are widely used: ~10.000 articles only for
{{largethumb}} on nlwiki. This bumps the whole size of the dump by a factor 2.

other templates working on the same principle.

Wasn't even aware of that feature. I believe putting it in a '''navigation''' bar with drop down menus is the worst possible location for it. I was running PostgreSQL and MySQL tests in parallel on one machine,
it seems that one test instance nuked /tmp/Foobar.svg needed by the other one
:)

wfWarn() is called, among others, from Database::rollback where it warns
that there is no transaction to rollback.
Rollback is used already in the error situation; in this case wfWarn exits and
this prevents subsequent printing of the real database error message that
caused the database problem in the first place.
