If you go to mediawiki.org, Commons, or Meta if you change the default English for, say, Italiano the MediaWiki UI will change but the language of the content will stay as is, even if a full Italian version is available. In the meantime, these homepages contain huge boxes at the bottom linking to all the languages available. It makes sense to think that a user selecting Italiano wants to see as much content in Italiano by default. Luckily, if the browser is defaulting Italian then luckily the content offered will be Italian as well. Still, I don't see a reason not to default to language X for everything if the user has selected such language. I have found another issue however. I am running this behind a load balancer and have an issue where the login link in the page corner simply redirects and does not log the user in. If I use the button on the login page it works and thence the login link in the corner works. I am guessing this has something do do with how the session is created but did not dig into it. I set the '$wgPersonaLoginAnywhere = false;' in my LocalSettings file and this removed the link from the top corner. The issue is that now the login button on the login page does not do anything. I think it would make more sense that they would count authors. I mean, when it comes to organizations it does make sense to see which organization is funding how much work, and it is good to count that work in reviews. However, our interest in the location of contributors is based on the people, less on the amount of reviews. In the case of our community it is clear that most reviews come from USA and Germany (when the devs fills their data) because this is where most WMF and WMDE (professional, full time) developers are located. Still, if there are a dozen of developers with just a bunch of commits in some other country we definitely want to know. In this case, 10 developers with 5 merged commits each has more relevance than a single developer with 50 commits. Conclusion: it would be good to have the data based on authors. If you want to keep the current graphs that is fine too. When it comes to http://korma.wmflabs.org/browser/who_contributes_code.html , we will swap Submitted per country (aggregated) for the graph by people as soon as it is available. I think it would make more sense that they would count authors. I mean, when it comes to organizations it does make sense to see which organization is funding how much work, and it is good to count that work in reviews. However, our interest in the location of contributors is based on the people, less on the amount of reviews. In the case of our community it is clear that most reviews come from USA and Germany (when the devs fills their data) because this is where most WMF and WMDE (professional, full time) developers are located. Still, if there are a dozen of developers with just a bunch of commits in some other country we definitely want to know. In this case, 10 developers with 5 merged commits each has more relevance than a single developer with 50 commits. Conclusion: it would be good to have the data based on authors. If you want to keep the current graphs that is fine too. When it comes to http://korma.wmflabs.org/browser/who_contributes_code.html , we will swap Submitted per country (aggregated) for the graph by people as soon as it is available. The AltGr key of native keyboards no longer works. This is a severe bug with
MANY international keyboards.
It is now intepreted as if we pressed Alt for inserting $placeholders.
For example it i impossible to enter the following basic ASCII characters on a
standard French keyboard :
# { [ | ` \ @ ] }
as well as the following symbols :
¤ €
and some accents. Many extended keyboards using AltGr (or Ctrl+Alt) for
entering some other characters are also unusable.
This is a severe regression of functionality when the recent addition facility
for Alt+1 (which was not working anyway, but not dramatic) is clearly optional.
Most languages (except English which does not need translations most of the
time) are affected.
Please revert this change (bug seen when translating on Meta)
