After all, there's nothing informative in the Q-ids themselves, so I do not see how any harm could follow from having them in the public stream, even if the content of the item has to be suppressed. Smalyshev added a comment. @Dzahn yes but your proposed config as far as I can see allows only to sudo to user blazegraph, not to root, for services. While services do run under blazegraph user, I think if I am going to start/stop them, I'll still need to sudo to root. Also, I think some access to journalctl for log viewing may be needed, but this can be worked around by sending the logs to syslog and maybe configuring rsyslogd to put them in files which could be read by wdqs-admins group. I'll check on that. IMHO it is not a good use of time to create a software solution that is specific to Wikidata. Any Mediawiki installation that uses page deletion with suppression has the same problem for anything that mirrors it via changes. So this task in its generic form has nothing to do with Wikibase. What do the rest base people do to not leak stuff like this? The easiest solution that is specific for Wikidata is: Tell the few people with this capability to not use it, but instead oversight revisions (possibly create a new one first). Maybe it can even be disabled via configuration? What should be the preferred way for categories out of the following
alternatives:

- Return a single customized value $wgCustomBannerCategory = **[[Category:Has
Custom Banner]]**
- Allow users to return a set of categories $wgCustomBannerCategories= **array(
[[Category:Has Custom Banner]], [[Category:Has PAGEBANNER magic word]] )**
Note that the above return values signify addition of those categories to the
page on which {{PAGEBANNER}} will be used.

It seems that migration is easier than thought, a simple modification of
Template:Pagebanner, to add a call to {{PAGEBANNER}} inside would do the trick.
Since Template:Pagebanner is already used on wikivoyage's pages, no
modification of individual pages may be needed. See this example template

to render a banner on http://pagebanner.wmflabs.org/wiki/Canada
