2015-03-03 Thread Jan Ainali
Update: It seems that wikipedia.org, wikimedia.org and mediawiki.org links
now are whitelisted in DMs.

Re: [Wikimedia-l] UTC in politics, editors threaten, or how rev history made the news

2015-03-03 Thread Gheorghe Zugravu
Hi,
a big thank you to Yuri for flagging this case of manipulation of public
opinion.

Reading through the links provided - i can say WP edit time was mostly
discussed among ”pro-state” media. One journalist even went as far as
insinuating that assassination was planned in the ”west” and that WP
was used to provide for media coverage (sic!)

I think that RU:WP should ask for apologies from the newspapers.

Re: [Wikimedia-l] WMF Finance Fellows to develop first-ever movement-wide financial report and metrics

2015-03-03 Thread Lene Gillis
Hi Pine,

Thank you for your inquiry and for following up the status of this project.

We’ve updated the information on our meta page[1], so that it is more clear
to everyone. We would like to clarify that the Draft Report is a
finalization of the raw dataset and is not intended to be published. We are
currently focusing on representing the data, so that everyone can easily
understand the outcomes of our project. This will be revised internally and
the outcome of that will be the Final Report, which will be published in
April.

All the best,

Lene

Re: [Wikimedia-l] Wikimedia OTRS Annual Report

2015-03-03 Thread Katherine Maher
The Communications team relies on OTRS volunteers every week, so I really
enjoyed reading this report and learning more about your critical
contribution to our movement. I passed this along to some of our colleagues
outside the WMF that help support media inquiries, and got this response
that I wanted to share:

"WowOTRS is kind of magical. It's incredible that it's mostly handled
by volunteers -- amazing humans! Thanks for sharing :)"

Thank you again for all the wonderful work you do!
