Re: [Wikimedia Kenya] State of the Chapter

2012-11-28 Thread Andrew maina

Love to be there but I can't sorry.
However, is it too early to discuss how to make sure we are ready to deal with
the 2013 general elections on Wikipedia? There's gonna be a huge influx of new
info (poll results, court petitions etc) that's gonna come through in really
short notice and I'd like Wikipedia to be a good up to date place for folk to
keep track.

We worked for almost 2 years even without funds to make this chapter

is time we go back to the original zeal and push for this to happen better and

I need suggestions on dates so that I can talk to either iHub or Nailab

Politically a good idea but please remember that wikipedia is not wikinews.
News articles trying to keep track of the elections will in all probability
be deleted by the administrators.

Re: [Wikimedia Kenya] State of the Chapter

2012-11-20 Thread cliff argwings
Hi David, All;

I'm all smiles to see that the spirit still lives on. A meetup ain't a bad
way to light it up, not at all.

Great to hear from everyone.

 Guys,

I have been silent watching in hope that someone will come up and say
something about the state of the Kenyan chapter. While we decided to
disband the board, we did not agree to kill the chapter. We have a lot of
things to achieve and we need to bring back the fire that was the Kenyan
 chapter.

I would like to suggest a meetup to discuss the way forward, who is with
me and what is the best day to get this up?
