notes651 error with viewing some mail with attachments
Hi, seen this problem with current wine-cvs-20050609 When I try and view some internet mail, notes hangs with the folllowing error. err:heap:HEAP_ValidateInUseArena Heap 77c2: in-use arena 77d1cb98 next block has PREV_FREE flag err:seh:setup_exception stack overflow 176 bytes in thread 000b eip 77ebde11 esp 777c0f50 stack 0x777c-0x778c err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x77c2001c "?" wait timed out in thread 0010, blocked by 000b, retrying (60 sec) Anyone have any idea what is causing this, or what debug info would you need? Re: wine 20050310
James, I thought these issues were caused by Patch: http://cvs.winehq.org/patch.py?id=14725 James Hawkins wrote: On Fri, 11 Mar 2005 15:49:08 -0700, Kevin DeKorte <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: The latest wine still has issues with Notes 6.51 that started in the 20050111 release. Basically if you open Notes and click on one of the bookmarks on the bookmark bar on the left, wine will consume all the CPU. Killing wineserver and wine-preload returns the machine to normal. Wine 20041201 works fine. Kevin Can you do a regression test of this problem to find out the exact patch that causes the change? If we know the exact patch, it will be much easier to find a solution. Hi, I am just wondering how much does the wine source located on http://ftp.codeweavers.com/pub/crossover/office/source/office-src-4.1.0.tgz differ from 20040716. I guess its codeweavers internal patched version, I see changes in there dating to January. Are there any restrictions on using this source?

Hi, was there ever a fix offered so that notes will run on wine post 20041207? I tested this with the CoolTrayTest demo program, but the XEMBED docking code is ridiculously race prone and flaky. It doesn't surprise me at all you don't see anything. What may have happened is that it did dock but GNOME assigned it a 1pixel width area. Last time I talked to Anders about this he seemed to think it was a bug in the EggTrayManager code, but it never seems to show up with native apps so presumably we could hack around it in Wine. thanks -mike

For now, I have it being started automatically by shell32 (to avoid the startup penalty), and shutting down a few seconds after the last icon is gone like the wineserver. If we start putting more stuff in there like a DDE server, we may have to rethink that strategy. wine - systray - gnome 2.8
Hi, I am seeing in Gnome-2.8 on the beta of RHEL4, the KDE status icons dock & are displayed correctly on the gnome systray. I am wondering if it anyone has considered using this technique to display wined based status icons now in gnome?< i.e. lotus notes new mail notification. Or am I simply barking mad?
wine notes & /etc/resolv.conf
Hi, is there a patch anywhere, which will allow wine to reread the /etc/resolv.conf file. i.e. application lotus notes a) start notes whilst connected to home network. /etc/resolv.conf gets populated by home dhcp server b) start vpn connection to work /etc/resolv.conf gets populated with extra name servers c) try and connect to work notes, server fails, as it cannot resolve named address If you start notes after the vpn connection is started, then /etc/resolv if correctly populated and the problem does not occur. Same issue happens when u suspend your machine and start in a different location. Does anyone have a patch or know how to get wine to reread /etc/resolv.conf periodically? Grant.
wine metacity and ctrl-alt-del binding - ctrl sticks
Curious if there is a patch somewhere for this. Running rhel3, gnome-2.2 with metacity. 1) Start notepad, type a few characters 2) hit the keyboard combination ctrl-alt-del ... "gnome-session-kill --save" is started. 3) Cancel this option. 4) Now try typing in Notepad, i.e. hit the keys "s" or "f", its just like ctrl-s or ctrl-f have been held in. 5) Hitting ctrl once cancels this. Anyone have a patch, to stop this happening?
gnome systray
Hi Mike, not sure you have time for this, I have noticed one nutty issue using the systray patch on gnome. With Lotus Notes 6.5.1 when you receive a mail an envelope appears on the systray(That is correct). If this appears when you are in the same workplace there is no problem, however if you are in a different workplace, and you double click on the systray icon you Lotus Notes desktop is resized to 20 wide by 768 long, rather odd. This occurs in 12112, 0123, 0213 releases. Is there any debugging I can do, to show you what is happening? grant williamson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

[Bug 1903] using dead_diaeresis i.e. e + ¨ hangs wine
Hi, not sure if anyone else has experienced this. since patch http://cvs.winehq.com/patch.py?id=10332 was added to cvs (20031205), if I type a dead_diaeresis - "¨" followed by a letter, which would normally produce a "ë" or a "ü" it simply makes wine hang. removing this patch(I removed it on latest cvs) and the problem goes away, can someone find out why this causes an issue? -- grant williamson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
