Re: [WISPA] Mikrotik Din Clip

2011-10-18 Thread Andy Trimmell
Do you have any vendors in the WISPA list? I've never bought from
Winford.

Let me rephrase my question.

Would any vendors from the WISPA list please advise if you carry such a
device?

Future reference, I've Googled way before I ask for assistance here. I
usually get no response for hours or days on the general list anyways.
Makes it even more less likely to ask on the WISPA general list in the
future when a fast response is something like that.

Depends very much on the switch, but 'one minute' seems to be a common

Do what the power company does, put a 20amp breaker on a 120v circuit and
touch it to the tower leg. If the breaker trips, it's grounded.

If you are using Centos I would look into Virtualmin and webmin. The main
reason I say this is Virtualmin allows you to migrate to new servers very
easily. Takes some setting up, but I have been doing it since CentOS 3 and
have no issues. Migrated to new hardware and OS probably 7 times now.

2011-10-18 Thread wispa
I would second that; we are running Virtualmin with Ubuntu on a couple of
servers for a while now and it really fantastic. The support - free! - is also
great. If you are looking a bit ahead, they also have a good package called
Cloudmin which is worth considering.

If you are using Centos I would look into Virtualmin and webmin.
The main reason I say this is Virtualmin allows you to migrate to new servers
very easily. Takes some setting up, but I have been doing it since CentOS 3
and have no issues. Migrated to new hardware and OS probably 7 times now.

Re: [WISPA] Looking for Linux Consultant

2011-10-18 Thread Justin Wilson
Basically setup the new server to match the settings of the old one. I am
talking about mail server, apache, etc. You then backup the sites within
webmin and then restore on the new server. Biggest issue I have ever had is
with servers running postfix. You have to make sure things like username
format, Maildir location and permissions, etc. all match up across the
board. What I do is I have a test domain, in my case it's a site dedicated
to my Import tuner car. It has a few e-mail addresses, a MYSQL database,
and some other things. It's a live site so I use it to test. I always move
it over first and let it sit for 4-5 days. I test mail, reachability, etc.
If all goes well then I move the rest over. Our biggest server has 150
virtual domains under virtualmin.
