Any experience with the
Ubiquiti Networks UAP-IW-US
UniFi AP In-Wall 2.4GHz US

Looking at a deployment of these in a Hotel.

Thanks!

Re: [WISPA] Baicells - who's deployed it?

2016-06-20 Thread Matthew Carpenter
On the Baicells you can (They can at this point) repoint your gateway and
it will start using the Telrad core for customer traffic.

So... if I change the Baicells eNB MNS setting to the Telrad core then it
will send Auth SIM card data to Telrad core, but all customer traffic still
goes out the Local Gateway. If you want SIM auth and Customer traffic to
go to the Telrad core then Baicells needs to login and make a change also.
Like I said we have only tested the SIM auth to the Telrad core at this
point.

Re: [WISPA] Baicells - who's deployed it?

2016-06-20 Thread Matthew Carpenter
The Baicells UE has a 1500 MTU as its default.

Older versions of the Telrad firmware did not support 1500, but I was told
the newest versions will.
New versions needed for eNB, EPC, and UE to support 1500MTU.

One of our customers is having an issue with his VPN. On the UBNT 5Ghz
network he had no issue. Now that he is on the LTE he is unable to
establish a VPN connection. Adair thinks it is packet fragmentation since
its at 1400MTU.

Re: [WISPA] Baicells - who's deployed it?

2016-06-19 Thread Matthew Carpenter
Hi,

Yes, the current Biacells (11db) UE when using a Telrad SIM card will connect
to the Telrad eNB and Telrad core and work fine.
The only issue I have found is that I have to set the Biacells UE’s MTU setting
down to 1400 for it to work correctly.

The latest firmware from Telrad was supposed to allow MTU of 1500 on the UE,
but we have not been able to make that work yet.
I am going to send all the details off to Telrad on the MTU issue. The current
UE 7000 has a MTU of 1400 by default!

Will test the Biacells (19.5db) as soon as I get it on Monday.

Re: [WISPA] Baicells - who's deployed it?

2016-06-19 Thread Matthew Carpenter
The Biacells eNB can be changed to send all customer traffic to the core,
or you can send customer traffic to it's local Gateway.
We have not tried sending all the customer traffic from a Biacells eNB to
our Telrad core, but it is something I want to test out.

The Biacells eNB has NAT turned on for customer traffic when using its
local Gateway.

Currently Telrad does not support peeling off customer traffic and sending
to the its local Gateway.. it all have to go to the Core.

The Biacells SIM cards will only authenticate with the Biacells Core. We
were not given keys for those SIMs from Biacells.
A Biacells SIM card will boot up with a Telrad 7000 UE and connect to a
Biacells eNB and Biacells Core.

Re: [WISPA] Baicells - who's deployed it?

2016-06-19 Thread Matthew Carpenter
So far I am have able to mix and match the Biacell, and Telrad eNBs and UEs.
Biacell eNB connects to the core with 0 setup. With only one change it will
connect and work with the Telrad core.
UEs from both Telrad and Biacells work with either eNBs.
Things to test:1. VPLS from the Telrad Core to the Biacells UE using a Telrad
eNB2. VPLS from the Telrad  Core to the Biacells UE using a Biacells eNB (I
don't believe this will work. There are some updates to the Biacells eNB coming
out soon to add VPLS)3. Does the Biacells UE support VPLS ?4. Does the Biacells
UE allow remote management from the Wireless side?5. Do all this again with the
new 19.5 dB Biscells UE.
One cool thing is when the Biacells eNB is using the Telrad core it only send
SIM card authorization to the core.  All customer data goes out to its gateway
and not to the core.
