I can't see that there would be much difference in v5 and v4.5 as far as
integration for IPPay would be, but I am not a programmer. I guess if an API
for Authorize.net was developed, that would work for us also.

I am wondering how many people out there are getting Code 012 Declines with
their IPPay account?

We are using Platypus, and all of the C012 Declines are able to be processed
through the Virtual Terminal. Our customer calls the bank and is told, they
are processing using an Adult Recurring Billing method, which is normally
blocked on all accounts. IPPay says that the new bank that acquired these
cards is handling it wrong and does not have an ETA for a fix. It has seemed
to have happened with all Kroger MasterCards. Having to go through and
manually process these accounts is starting to get to be a pain in the a$$.
Our customers do not want to change credit cards.

All of this seems like a crock, I know I am able to process them with
AuthorizeNet automatic recurring billing. Has anyone else figured out a
workaround for this?

Within Platypus the reports show the response codes from IPPay. They can
also be viewed on the IPPay reporting website. This isn't just 1 customer,
this is a list of customers... Accounting is asking me if we can add our

Re: [WISPA] IPPay Code 012 Declines

2011-01-20 Thread Chadd Thompson
We haven't seen any declines through IP pay here but we use k-billing for
credit card and virtual terminal for our ACH recurring payments. It seems
kind of fishy that you can process them with VT but not your normal billing
software. On a side note Virtual terminal does have recurring billing set up
in it, you still have to manually tell it to run all the recurring charges
but at least you don't have to do them individually.

They do a PERSONAL credit check instead of a CORPORATE credit c heck in
order to make their decision to accept your company as a client. And that
is okay how?

Just found that out after trying to get them as a processor. And still I
was snookered. I'm sure they do a great job and are well worth the fees but
I am a full blow C Corp for a reason and I REALLY take issue with being lied
to by them for their data collection. Thanks guys, (IP Pay) you just opened
me up to potential personal liability. Nice. That's why I refused the
info in the first place.

If you have the in-house development expertise to talk to their

because our old (and proprietary) billing system doesn't support

probably would be wonderful. We couldn't use it here, because our old (and
proprietary) billing system doesn't support it, and after several months
their promised authorize.net-compatible interfaces never showed up.

We converted from Authorize.net to IPPay using BillMax as the billing
platform. The biggest issues were in getting the clerk to understand
what report to look at for what she needed. We had some challenges with
BillMax as we run multiple companies from it, but they got it all
working quickly and well.

If you have the in-house development expertise to talk to their
API, it probably would be wonderful. We couldn't use it here,
because our old (and proprietary) billing system doesn't support
it, and after several months their promised
authorize.net-compatible interfaces never showed up.

I was told that in order to keep the protection of the corporation, I have
to keep personal and business separate. If mixed, things could possibly
come back onto me with the argument that I was operating as a personal
business and not a corp. A corp is supposed to be it's own entity. If you
worked for someone you certainly wouldn't be signing for financial liability
for your boss Same thing.

But the thing with this is, why would there be much risk anyhow? They would
be the ones handling the money and passing it on to us. I didn't see THEIR
CEOs name on the agreement.

this is more of an old wives tale now...Banking Rules have changed...

You cannot walk into a Bank and open a Bank Account for the Business
without giving your personal info
Accepting Credit Cards is the same way... (and It makes sense...)
Credit card payments to the merchant are done on a Trust Basis, with the
agreement on settling and 'bad transactions' after the fact.

There are a few folks out there who will for the right amount of 'fee'
provide you with anonymity in doing these types of transactions..(e.g
paypal )..

One time I had this conversation with our Attorney, about signing a
personal guarantee... He was talking out loud... first he said, don't...
then he said, these days it don't make much difference, being the Owner
of the bussiness, if something goes wrong, they will still come after
you ..with or without any guarantees... another factor that makes a
difference is what is your networth... if it ain't much... then you have
even less to worry about..

Re: [WISPA] IPPay

Agreed. One cannot open an account without some personal ID of who is
opening the account. But as a C-Corp, I am listed only as a signer on the
account. As far as liability, if done right, as in following the rules and
not mixing your personal with the corp, creditors can't come back onto you
for anything other than fraud. At least, that's the way I understand it
from who I have discussed it with. As far as credit cards go, I'm not
listed as someone to guarantee the account. They have our ESIN and our DUNS
number and it makes it all good. The funny thing is, even with all the
credit problems around, after a few months of getting our DUNS, everyone
under the sun wanted to give our corp credit. They all hit the trash,
thankfully. Well, except for the Home Depot card. That one has been the
most handy. :)
