We have 4 of the Kwikboost charging stands around campus.  Everyone loves
them, but the price is a bit high.  We are also considering similar
charging stations from chargeall.com.

I think I’ve seen a few of those KwikBoost stations in our student center.  

I know I’m in the paranoid camp, but I wouldn’t trust a random USB charger 
these days.  I carry my own AC adapter and USB cables and plug into 110V AC 
outlets only.  I also have a Mophie Juice Pack for my phone that Apple decided 
to give me one day after they said they had kept me on hold for too long.

I don't know if these are exactly it, but these type of outlets with USB
ports directly on them are installed in our new buildings and renovated
spaces. Some along countertops. Some furniture has a 110V cord that runs to
110V and USB outlets throughout the desks/tables as well under flip covers.

Charging devices have changed a lot over the past 15 years or so, but 110V
outlets have not.

Which one would you choose for longevity?  I would choose 110V every day.

I don't have direct links, but our newer buildings have furniture with
built in outlets. Two examples are a chair with outlets mounted to the
bottom, so that you can plug them in on the side of the chair, and a
table with a flip-top junction box on top of it.
