Witango-Talk: Question about custom scopes and domain scope

2004-05-27 Thread Gauthier Segay
Hello,

I've a simple questions about Tango 3:

1/ Does custom scopes are availables?

2/ Is it possible to use domain scope accross multiple domains?

I repeat that theses questions target Tango 3, the second question is
also interresting me on Witango 5.

If anyone have a short answer to one of theses questions, much thanks to
you!

Gauthier

Rep:Re: Witango-Talk: Free_Threaded_XML_DOM_Document Trouble

2003-03-29 Thread Gauthier Segay
Hi,

scuse me for the delay, I've previously got the same issue and it was
only
due to a missconfiguration of the handlers.ini:
If you use Witango5 check that your [COM] section look like this:

[COM]
LoadHandler=1
ShortName=COM / DCOM Objects
SupportScanning=0
ServerPath=C:\\Program Files\\Witango\\Server\W3HCM601.DLL

LoadHandler is is a new parameter in Witango 5, it's set to 0 by default
(or
is not mentionned at all),
you absolutely need that all lines for the section to be close to each
others (wich was what make me stuck when I firstly got the problem if I
remember)

Normally it would solve the issue,

you can check wich handlers are loaded at runtime with
<@METAOBJECTHANDLERS>
MetaTag
wich return an array of loaded object handlers.

Hope this helps

Thanks alot, sorry for the hurry but it's for a client.

I'm sure that the work they have done to integrate the witango metatag

does it autocomplete metatags with arguments?

thanks again for the info.

I've a customer wich want to order an update to the new version of

But my customer want to order witango objects for dreamweaver.
The customer only want to order via us and don't want to pay with

The problem I got is that the online order doesn't work:

Yes... an Object loop (i.e. <@OBJECTS>) is for when an Object returns a
'collection' (which is a VB term, I think, but probably still relevant
here)
of other Objects

For example, the code below is from my recently-posted FileSystem COM
object
example:

<@ASSIGN local$Files <@CALLMETHOD local$Root METHOD="Files()"
METHODTYPE="GET">>
<@OBJECTS OBJECT=local$Files ITEMVAR=local$File>
  <@CALLMETHOD local$File METHOD="Name()" METHODTYPE="GET">

Craig,

I would recommend writing the method to accept an array of IDs as input,
then loop through those and generate your reports. If you put the loop
in
your taf file you incur the extra overhead of calling the method 50
times.
It's a normal for loop you need, not an object loop.

I have a TCF that takes one parameter - an ID - and then
does a bunch of dbms stuff and then returns an HTML report
based on that ID.

I have only had to prepare the report for one ID at a time
so this was never an issue, but now I need to do the same
thing for say an array of 50 IDs.

So, my questions is, what is the most appropriate way of
doing this? Should I just set up a normal FOR LOOP and
execute the TCF for each row in the array and let the HTML
accumulate.

Or is this what an OBJECT LOOP is for? I've never used that
action before and am not sure I completely get what it is
asking for.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Craig

Rep:RE: Witango-Talk: object loop question

2002-11-14 Thread Gauthier Segay
You can check the method's parameter type with <@VARINFO
NAME="method$[PARAMETERNAME]" ATTRIBUTE="type"> inside your method
so
-if the parameter is type text (your current id)
do exactly the same process
-if parameter is type array (one column with multiple id)
make a for loop to call the same method (recursive call).

Here is a small tcf exemple (only the method) wich won't run alone but
it will allow you to see the method I've used to convert my old method
to accept list of id.

Hope this help :)

I apologize to John and everyone else.

In my earlier post about parsing John's HTML as DOM / XML / XHTML - I
was
recommending that it's good practice to always try and make your HTML,
XHTML compliant.

But in trying to illustrate my code example, I broke one of the first
rules
of XHTML and that is to write all the HTML Element (tag) names and

attributes as "lower-case". My excuse is that it was from force of habit
that when typing code examples in an Email - I often use "upper-case"
because it's more readable. Whereas normally during actual coding, I
always
write HTML in lower-case.

Sorry :o}

For those that are interested, here is a good little on-line tutorial on
XHTML:

Also, is there a specific version , I would need to access StoreFront.

oh of course, yeah im doing that

the problem is...i could have a method in my class called "Display" and
when

call the display function from my object and it doesnt display text ):

if however, i call another function which does a select statement, i can
put
@@local$resultset right after the function call in my taf and it prints
up
the results of the select. If however, i put the @@local$resultset as
part
of the results html after the select, it doesnt work. There seems to be
something blocking out the raw html output from the tcf.

Any ideas?

Hi,

tcf act like objects in other language: they need to be instanciated
so you have to call your method to display the result from a .taf
You can also call it from another method, but you always need a taf to
call the top most method.

Hope this is understandable :)

Hi,

tcf act like objects in other language: they need to be instanciated
so you have to call your method to display the result from a .taf
You can also call it from another method, but you always need a taf to
call the top most method.

Hope this is understandable :)

Dont forget to set the method's return in the taf where you call it
ex:
If you store it in variable Local$Result
you have to write <@VAR Local$Result ENCODING="NONE">

Double click on your methods and select "Results HTML" for "Return
Value".
