[WiX-users] Problems Deploying an ASP.NET Website

2007-10-16 Thread Day, Tony
So, in a nutshell, I'm getting everything deployed as expected. The
Virtual Directory is being setup as an app and all appears good EXCEPT
the global.asax file is getting stomped. I initially tried harvesting
it then just decided to deploy into a folder. Same issue. I end up
with a 1K file and one header line. Navigate to the path that is
created during harvest and the file looks good in the source folder.
Contains everything I expect but it is definitely stomped after
deploying...any ideas?

[WiX-users] Patching Issues

2007-09-14 Thread Day, Tony
I'm trying to test out patching based on the following instructions,
http://blogs.msdn.com/pmarcu/archive/2007/06/28/sample-patch.aspx

Are these steps accurate? I get the following error on the final step.
I tried the latest and greatest version and then I went back to
3.0.3106.0 the closest to what the blog said was needed for this
functionality...same issue.

D:\Testpyro Patch\Patch.WixMsp -out Patch\Patch.msp -t RTM
pyro.exe : error PYRO0001 : Index was outside the bounds of the array.

[WiX-users] Tallow and Automated Builds

2007-02-20 Thread Day, Tony
Hello all,

I'm a relatively new Wix user. At the same time I don't know much about
Legacy COM+ apps. But from what I have read in the archives there are
some limitations to using tallow to extract registry data within the
context of an automated build process. I came across a thread that also
stated these limitations were not going to be addressed in Tallow as it
was being replaced by Heat in v3but I also came across another
thread that states Heat does not yet support COM+ apps.

Maybe this is a question for the dev list but if I have read all this
correctly, we are caught between a rock and a hard place if trying to
use Wix to create an install containing a COM+ app within the context of
an automated build? If I am wrong I would appreciate it if someone
would correct me.

And if I am right in my observations, when is it expected to me
implemented in v3 / Heat?

Thanks in advance

Tony Day
