As we speak, the US <-> Canadian Women's Hockey
Olympic game is about to start!

And we're fortunate enough to have a cable tv

And then there were the similar shows which had both "first run"

The one I recall was "Gunsmoke" vs. "The Penderosa" (or
at least I think I remember that..)

Also "Emergency" vs. "Emergency One". Or something.

Maybe.

This whole deal is driving us crazy 'cuz:

Network affiliate (or even, in some parts,

Detroit station WDIV. (Guess what "channel"

Oh, and for more craziness, the standard program
these weeks is being hosted by Ken Jennings, while
the College tournament has that shill for some
memory fake-aid or another.

[1] Well, at least this week, when NBC is
broadcasting the Olympics starting at 7:30 pm,
they've been accomodating us by moving Jeopardy!

transporting Wheel into the "out there", or something.

The three semifinalists with the highest winning totals will appear in the
finals. The fourth will be saved for a forthcoming "Second Chance Tournament,"
for which they will also invite the best/most memorable contestants from the
past season who didn't make it into the Tournament of Champions.

The "Super Jeopardy!" tournament that aired on ABC in the summer of 1990 had
four contestants in each of the quarterfinal matches. Here's the first episode:

The worlds! of World News Now! and Jeopardy! collide!

2022-02-16 Thread 'Doug Elrod' via World News Now Discussion List
Apparently, current anchors Andrew Dymburt and Mona Kosa Abdi have recorded
clues which will
appear in the first day of the semifinal games of the Jeopardy! National
College Championship (this
Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022).  Enjoy

BTW, does anyone know how they're going to do the finals?  It appears that 36
students, representing
as many schools, were in the quarterfinals.  And so 12 students go on to the
semifinals.  But
if you have four games there, that results in four students in the finals.  Has
Jeopardy! ever
had FOUR contestants at a time, in any of its formats?  Thanks for any info.
