I expect you're right.  When I first checked the IPG, it was only showing 3
nights (which seemed to imply, in a "winner is first to three matches"
tournament, that somebody sweeps).  But after last night's game, where that is
now impossible, I see that the IPG has been updated to _7_ nights, which is the
most matches possible.  They probably should have gone with the World Series
system, i.e. for games 5-9, "Game 5, if necessary" :-)

I suspect that ABC is handling the program listings for this in the same way
they do the NBA finals — on the nights on which the later games would take
place, temporarily slotting in sitcom reruns or other programming until it
becomes known that the later games will take place.

P.S.  On a seemingly unrelated note, I was recently at a concert where, in
reponse to something a bandmember said, part of the audience yelled
"Eeemmaaayyyzzeee!"  Whereupon, *another* area of the audience replied
"Zzzzhhhyo!".  Naturally, in response to this provocation, the
first group repeated ""Eeemmaaayyyzzeee!", etc.  EVENTUALLY, the concert
restarted.  But I just hope that someday the Eeemmaaayyyzzeee and
Zzzzhhhyo peoples can come to some sort of *understanding* :-)

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Two suspects are being penalized after they allegedly
stole a life-sized cutout of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes,
then crashed their getaway car.
Lawrence police spokesman Patrick Compton says a man and woman grabbed the
cutout at a McDonald’s restaurant Monday, ran out the door, then jumped into a
car and sped away.
Officers investigating a nearby two-car accident saw the cutout in one of the
vehicles. Compton said the vehicle also matched the description of the car that
drove away from the McDonald’s.

Farewell, Diane Macedo, we hardly knew ye!

2018-11-20 Thread Doug Elrod (d...@cornell.edu)
Her highlight reel is quite an EXPOSE':

Welcome, new permanent anchor Janai Norman!

-Doug Elrod (d...@cornell.edu)
P.S. Proposal for a Diane cameo in a Sharknado sequel: She could play a
WEDDING SINGER
who, just when she reaches the high note in "Lovin' You", gets swallowed by a
shark, leaping
out of a nearby WISHING WELL. (HANDWAVING JUSTIFICATION: Apparently the sharks
got into Southern California's vast network of mining tunnels because of a
recent earthquake!)
I mean, *Diane* getting eaten by a shark would be a tragedy, but her
*character* being eaten
AT JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT could only be seen as A TRIUMPH! :-)

Count Fosco, ACCORDIONIST??

In the latest production of "The Woman in White", airing on your local PBS

_evil_ could exist so near an *accordion*!  (I suppose that's why he played
one, to lull his (SPOILER) victims into a false sense of security ;-))

P.S. I guess this means that Kenneth knows the *frequency* that one should
re-apply lotion. :-)

P.S. #2. I suppose that a World News Now Mug is large enough for a small tube
of lotion, sufficient for commercial-break top-ups

Well, assaulted in a non-sanctioned way, I presume. This is SUMO after all!

Imagining that there was a time when Nowbies would greet each other with
stylized sumo moves.
But, of course, with today's likelihood of this being mistaken for harassment,
those days are now long past.

Kendis Gibson appeared in the premiere of "Deception" on ABC (!)

Does anyone know if he was he playing "Himself", or a newsperson who *isn't*
Kendis Gibson?

(I mean, suppose a *pie* were on the anchor desk of that *other* newsperson.
What would happen to it? H.)

P.S. I *hear* that Diane Macedo had a role in that episode, too :-)

On a tangential note, a headline like "Uber Eats driver accused of killing

least some non-breaking spaces so that a carriage-return doesn't happen at an
unfortunate spot.   (Microsoft Word used to offer these, if I recall.)

And they even had the obligatory Big Button that activated
the LOUD Buzzer.

However, they missed the opportunity to show the make-up plate
sitting right next to the printing press. And then move the
camera to the next press which had a different make-up plate.

Well, I was thinking of the scene in the newsroom (apparently far above the
presses), where the rumbling was perceptible when the presses finally started
the pivotal run (but, I suppose, was ignored the rest of the time).  Although,
I could see how you might have thought that the ripples in the numerous cups of
coffee they were drinking were caused by an APPROACHING T-REX!  An
understandable mistake

Best movie I have seen in years. Having spent my childhood in a small-town
newspaper office, I especially loved seeing the old linotype machines and
wondered where they found actual working equipment. Those are very high
maintenance. I could just smell the ink and to lead. The scene where the Ben
Bakdagian character brings in the bag of out of town papers and dumps them on
the desk to show the support for the Post made me start to cry. 😢 But joyful
tears.
