Hi Marvin, You can try Easy Recovery Pro. if your hard drive is detecting properly. I tried it. it can even recover lost partitions. make sure when you recover, select folder wise recovery. Now heard a clunk, clunk sound. when i rebooted the machine. and the next day my dad read what was on screen. said the hard disk particion corrupted. so had to reset it back to factory default. did not have a external hard disk. i do now. but have lost all my important documents, college projects, contacts,music, etc. so is there any way to get the data back. have been installing and uninstalling software. i had the music in the music folder under Marvin. and my main folder was called c:\Docs. where i had a lot of folders, Marvins Web Site, Tafe, etc. current articles, Star Trek Project, Test Site for visual web developer. Mingw, a c++ application. I cannot be with out my laptop. Hoping to start online learning, also seeking employment and looking for employment. This is my main machine for information, projects, and entertainment. Like listening to sport on radio stations on the net, getting information, listening to pod casts about blindness,adaptive technology, etc. So if you can help me out. would like to do it my self if possible. So any software. tried 2 or 3, demo versions, but not either accessible. Or the trial version would let me preview files, but not recover, unless i purchased the full version. I do not have a credit card. So can you help me. cannot be without my machine. Was working on updating a few student web projects. Lost Them all. I've just implemented a dropdown menu of this sort, and ran into some IE6 and IE7 bugs using the sons of suckerfish approach. What worked for me was Sons of Ursidae method, http://css-class.com/articles/ursidae/ . One gotcha: Note that if the dropdown menu overlaps with a select element, in IE6 the select will bleed through the dropdown menu. My project was already using the jQuery library, so we used a plugin called jquery.bgiframe.js to insert an iframe 'shim', and then used conditional comments to serve this JavaScript only to IE6. I'm sure that this approach can be adapted to work without the library dependency. This is much better than the other suckerfish. I find people get confused as well in ie when clicking on the top ite locks it down, and all other top links also stick down. I have realized that in a screen 17 inches I have the horizontal scroll. Below

[WSG] IE8 bug?
Hi all, I have run in to what seems to be an IE8 bug - IE8 doesn't respond to internal links (as in, same page links) on a demo site I'm working onyet IE6 and IE7 do! eg. a id=top name=top/a ul liblah blah blah/li liblah blah blah/li /ul a href=#topback to top/a I tried Googling and looking back through old posts from WSG but can't find anything Has anyone come across this issue before? (and better yet, come across a fix??) But in any case, if all you need is to jump to the top of the page you should be able to do it without a named anchor. [WSG] Rendering mismatch in IE6 and IE7
Hi, I am working on a project that uses JSF with Richfaces and Ajax4jsf. All the pages were developed using IE7.0 and they appear properly on it. The same page is rendered a bit differently on the other browsers such as Firefox, Chrome. But the discrepancy is only w.r.t to the borders that are inherited. During development, I had referred to certain sites suggested on this forum too and was convinced that IE6 had some glaring bugs in rendering using CSS properties and IE7 is the way forward. Now due to some constraints, we need to make these pages compatible with IE6. Here comes the trouble. The controls on the pages are not in the expected places. The panels sit on top of one another and other such mismatches. Now is there any way I can identify what CSS properties are not behaving properly in IE6? Is there any way that I can make the pages compatible with IE6? Any reference link or suggestion will be of immense help.
