Where will I find rigctld-wsjtx?

Remember, the driver for Flex 6xxx doesn't use (or shouldn't use) CAT com
ports; it goes directly over the network via TCP.

Who wrote the original 6xxx driver, perhaps we can get info from them?

Re: [wsjt-devel] valid prefixes in JT65

2017-10-11 Thread Bill Somerville

There was a discussion in a Google group about valid prefixes and suffixes that

in JT65 - and by the JT65-HB9HQX software.

'jt65code.exe -t' lists all possible variations. Prefix 'A000' to '' should
be possible
and they will work by testing them with jt65code.exe.

Valid prefixes are listed in
thehttp://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/JT65.pdf document,
some 4 char prefixes starting with a digit, or for example, per list 'VK9M'
showing
other results with jt65code.exe and tested in WSJT-X 1.7 devel 8164

But "CQ 3D3R/OE1MWW RH97" results in "CQ 3D3R/OE1MWW" the QRA locator is
missing.

If I just change it to "CQ AD3R/OE1MWW RH97" or "CQ ZD3R/OE1MWW RH97" it will
be sent
as typed. Otherwise, the listed VK9M in the JT65.pdf, using it with
jt65code.exe gives
me instead of "CQ VK9M/OE1MWW JN88" just "CQ VK9M/OE1MWW", the QRA locator is
missing in
this case. Replacing the '9' with an 'Z' for testing, will be coded as typed.

All this is not important at the moment, just, which guideline should be used?

Hi Wolfgang,

there are two different types of compound calls supported in WSJT-X,
type 1 which use the predefined suffixes and prefixes that are shown in
the help menu and newer type 2 compound calls that support a wider range
of prefixes and suffixes limited by format rather to a predefined list.
Both types have limitations on the messages that can be sent. Type 1
cannot be sent with grid squares in CQ/QRZ and TX1 messages but do
include both full callsigns in those message types. Type 2 compound
callsigns can send a grid and full callsign in a CQ/QRZ message but
cannot send a full callsign with another callsign in other message
types, instead having to send the base callsign only or a DE
message with a report, R+report or 73 message. The User
Guide contains examples of QSOs with both types of compound callsign.

The Flex API works fine, I use it all the time.

First I am confused on what to enter in the Server entry, when I enter
the IP and Port of the Radio server, it sees the client and I'd have to

wasn't jt9 it was wsjt.exe which I stopped and got working again.

Tried Exit and that worked on restart

Tried the X again, and now that is working.

The you can kill it and answer the lock dialog with Retry and it

Next question is why isn't jt9.exe being terminated correctly?

Try renaming your WSJT-X.ini file and start WSJT-X with a blank slate
and exit it to see if it works then.

I make a new build of the WSJT-X devel branch nearly every day. For the last

Re: [wsjt-devel] valid prefixes in JT65

2017-10-11 Thread Wolfgang
There was a discussion in a Google group about valid prefixes and suffixes that
can be used
in JT65 - and by the JT65-HB9HQX software.

'jt65code.exe -t' lists all possible variations. Prefix 'A000' to '' should
be possible
and they will work by testing them with jt65code.exe.

Valid prefixes are listed in the
http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/JT65.pdf document,
some 4 char prefixes starting with a digit, or for example, per list 'VK9M'
showing
other results with jt65code.exe and tested in WSJT-X 1.7 devel 8164
