Re: [wsjt-devel] Automatization QSO
Hi all Already been done by sv5dkl his station has worked in excess of 13,500 stations since last July he has posted a howto on youtube. I cannot see the point in a robot station or understand how people cannot click for themselves and feel the need for autoseq on which makes the whole operation only 2 clicks away from a robot station anyway. I have completely stopped playing with FT8 and now pick off the few jt65/jt9 stations that are about. Pat, I agree Robot FT8 is not Ham Radio I rather see real operators at each end and there using skill in chasing DX rather than making a Robot FT8 station The thrill of working of 6meter DX real to real operator mode is the way to go at least for me ( West Coast USA to Africa/Europe ) We do not need to change the FT8 frequencies into a 24Hour Beacon Service with hundred’s of Robot FT8 stations 73 Mike > On Jun 13, 2018, at 7:39 PM, patrick hamel wrote: > > If you have the skills you could develop the software you describe, but then > what good would it do when your "robot" has worked everyone in the world? > There were CW robots years ago but nobody worked them. > There would be no challenge for you as an OPERATOR! > How big would your QSL printing and mailing bill be? > Would the mailman ever deliver or just tell you to come get your ^%$#@! out > of the building or the river? > There is a saying "Because we can does not mean we should". > If you have the code written, re-purpose it as an "On The Beach" (movie) > doomsday beacon. > 73, > Pat W5THT > > > - Original Message - > From: "Michele via wsjt-devel" > To: "WSJT software development" > Cc: "Michele" > Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2018 4:05:15 PM > Subject: [wsjt-devel] Automatization QSO > > Hello, > I'm an OM from Italy. > Can I develop a software that allows make QSO automatically? > > 73 > > -- > Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most > engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot > ___ > wsjt-devel mailing list > wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel > > -- > Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most > engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot > ___ > wsjt-devel mailing list > wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel -- Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot ___ wsjt-devel mailing list wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/wsjt-devel
Re: [wsjt-devel] Automatization QSO
If you have the skills you could develop the software you describe, but then what good would it do when your "robot" has worked everyone in the world? There were CW robots years ago but nobody worked them. There would be no challenge for you as an OPERATOR! How big would your QSL printing and mailing bill be? Would the mailman ever deliver or just tell you to come get your ^%$#@! out of the building or the river? There is a saying "Because we can does not mean we should". If you have the code written, re-purpose it as an "On The Beach" (movie) doomsday beacon. 73, Pat W5THT - Original Message - From: "Michele via wsjt-devel" To: "WSJT software development" Cc: "Michele" Sent: Wednesday, June 13, 2018 4:05:15 PM Subject: [wsjt-devel] Automatization QSO Hello, I'm an OM from Italy.
