Hi Josh,
It would help us track the problem down if you could provide a .wav file for a
case that produces the large DT values.
Thanks in advance,

Hi Josh,

so we can see what is happening please put the attached file into your
local configuration directory ~/.config and run a minimal test that
demonstrates the issue, including two transmissions that demonstrate the
repeated switching to aerial 0. Then quit WSJT-X. It will have created a
file ~/Desktop/WSJT-X_RigControl.log, send us that for analysis please?

Hi Josh,

the latest version of Hamlib being used in WSJT-X v2.3.0 RC3 attempts
to change bands on certain Yaesu rigs in a way that is compatible with
other manufacturers rigs (and other Yaesu rigs). These Yaesu rigs do
not select the last "band stack" memory used on the target band when a
basic CAT QSY to a target frequency command is sent, other
manufacturers rigs behave better in this respect. The latest Hamlib
will do the equivalent of selecting the band then the target frequency
in that band. That should cause the rig to revert to certain settings
last used on that band as stored in the "band stack" registers, such
as aerial selection, pre-amp settings (IPO), etc..

If the behaviour you see is not consistent with the above description
then let us know so we can direct you to gather some diagnostic
information.

Hi Claude,

I am not sure what has happened, but that directory contains a
CMakeLists.txt file in both  the master branch and the wsjtx-2.3.0-rc3
tag. Looks like something has gone wrong with your local clone of the
WSJT-X repository. What does this print:

git -C ~/ham/JoeTaylor/wsjtx status

"c++: fatal error: Terminated signal terminated program cc1plus "

That is actually an out of memory error.   Either not enough ram or swap
space to handle all of the multiple parallel processes going on during
compilation.

Use   make -j 4   instead to reduce the number of parallel processes
running during compilation.

Adrian,

Excellent question. I don't see a memory issue with dmesg, but I only
have 1.5GB RAM allocated to the virtual machine. I've increased memory
to 2.0GB RAM and it succeeded this time.

Thank you for pointing out what should have been obvious to me. :-)

Re: [wsjt-devel] WSJT-X 2.3.0-rc3 - wsjtx_app_version utility

2021-01-05 Thread Sam W2JDB via wsjt-devel
Hi Mike,
Thank you for the prompt reply.
Worked fine with -v and redirected to a text file.
Downloaded the new version and started testing it with my program (QLog) for
the visually impaired.Noticed some weird tab sequences in the Generate Std Msgs
group of controls.
In Ver 2.2 pressing Shortcut keys Ctrl+6 then Shift+Tab changed focus to the
tx6 input box.Subsequent multiple Shift+Tab key strokes shift focus to the
previous Tx input boxes.
In Ver 2.3-rc3 pressing Shortcut keys Ctrl+6 then Shift+Tab changes focus to
the [1] control in the group. The next Shift+Tab changes focus to the Hold Tx
Freq check box. If you press Ctrl+6 then the TAB key, focus shifts the tx1
input box. The next TAB key press shifts focus to the tx6 input box, the next
TAB moves you to the [tx5] button, another TAB moves to the [tx2] button, next
TAB move to the tx2 input, followed by a TAB to the tx4 input. Just an FYI
73,
Sam W2JDB

Hello all,

I have updated a BASH script for automated updating WSJT-X from source. The
script is compatible with Ubuntu and Raspberry Pi OS, but can easily be
modified for Fedora, Mint, etc.

Find the BASH script on GitHub here:

I've been building the rc version in my COPR[1] and I just built rc3 this
morning. I'm still working out some issues with boost on RHEL 8 but the
F32/33 packages built fine.
