[wtp-dev] Commit rights for Craig Salter have been expired

2008-04-29 Thread portal on behalf of emo
webtools.webservices Committers,
Kathy Chan has expired the commit rights for Craig Salter (csalter). The
reason for this change is:

Due to changing job responsibilities, Craig is no longer able to devote
time and attention to the WTP project. He had submitted his resignation to
the PMC.

In recognition to Craig's contribution as the former component lead to the
XML component and the XML Web services tools, I would also like to nominate
Craig for the Committer Emeritus status.

Thank you for all your contribution to WTP, Craig!

To honor Craig Salter's contributions to the project, Kathy Chan has
nominated Craig Salter for Committer Emeritus status.

[wtp-dev] Nomination of Chris Brealey and Craign Salter for Committer Emeritus status

2008-04-29 Thread Kathy Chan
I've been asked to clarify my nomination for Chris Brealey and Craig
Salter for Committer Emeritus status for the benefit of those who are less
familiar with their work in WTP. I did not elaborate when I nominated
them earlier today since I thought everyone in WTP is already very
familiar with the work Chris and Craig had done over the years.

Chris was the component lead in the Web services component and Craig was
the component lead in the XML and XML Web services component since the
initial formation of WTP. They were instrumental in setting the direction
of WTP and guiding it through the various releases. They laid out a lot
of the ground work for their respective components and had been shaping
the direction of these components ever since. Over the years, they
contributed designs documents, implemented RFEs, provide fixes, and
reviewed patches from other team members. They had been very actively
participating in the WTP community in general until they had a change of
job responsibility a few months ago. For that reason, they had submitted
their resignation to the WTP PMC.

Following the process outlined recently to maintain an up-to-date list of
active committers, I requested to expire their committer rights for the
Web services subproject and to nominate them for Committer Emeritus status
in recognition to their previous contribution.

Regards,

Kathy Chan

Re: [wtp-dev] Ganymede migration docs for WTP ?

2008-04-29 Thread David M Williams
... FYI I recorded all the issues I bumped into while migrating ...

Thanks Max. This is a very constructive contribution that we strive for in
open development.

And, it's a nice reminder for all us committers ... we can try to document
issues in advance of anyone finding them,
but due to a number of limitations we can not always succeed at that ...
so ... be sure to remember to document things after
the fact -- that is after you become aware of one adopter hitting some
issue -- and then hopefully other adopters will avoid the same pitfalls.

Thanks all,
