[xmail] users without domain ?

2002-12-10 Thread Guillaume Devoyon

Hello,
i had two domains on my xmail server..
I had the same users on the both domains,
so to login, they had to put their "name@domain".

Now, i've removed users from the first domain created.
So they just appear in the second domain created..
i would like that their login would just be "name"

How can i tell to xmail that logins are just "name" ??

[xmail] Question: Do you need the multilanguage version of XMail-WAI?

2002-12-10 Thread Michal Altair Valasek

Hi, all.

I am slowly working on new version of XMail-WAI under ASP.NET. It would
be quicker and generally better.

How important for you is availability to have the user interface in
other languages than English? Current version has messages stored in
separate language file and generates them at runtime. But it's not too
easy to implement, because every part of user interface must be created
or updated dynamically, which is not easy.

I personally feel the multilanguage option as unnecesary. Although
English is not my native language, I think so everyone may learn the 20
words needed for work with mail.

2002-12-10 Thread David Byte

I feel that the language option is un-necessary as well.

If I may make a feature request as well. It would be nice for the
domain postmaster account and system admin to be able to create an
auto-responder as part of the mailproc for an individual user. I use
Edinilson's script right now and think that it would not be hard to
implement into the code.

As always, I am willing to assist (although I not much at the .net stuff
yet..)

Ok. I am no expert but i think sending an email using UNICODE or
iso-8859-1 would get the characters the Swedish uses... Xmail didnt
support non-ASCII before?? So Everything should be like before except
that menus will be in English then?

Sounds wonderful... (just as i was getting started..) ;)

English is good however I could understand the need for multilanguage
version as well. My wife speaks five languages and I only speak English.
So for me One language is fine...but I could understand the need for
multiple languages...Maybe should release an English only version first
and take your time to implement more languages as they are requested?

[xmail] XMAIL and Majordomo

2002-12-10 Thread Rob G
Hi All,

Just wondering how to configure xmail to work with Majordomo. I have majordomo
installed but I can't seem to find where to enter the aliases as the aliases.tab fil
just does not seem to be the correct place. Any ideas? I tried setting up ecartis
but the documentation was a little lacking to get it up and running.

[xmail] Re: XMAIL and Majordomo

2002-12-10 Thread Rob G

Ok .. still not sure here.. sorry for being so dense ...

Here is the step that I am stuck on:

Add the majordomo-related aliases to your Sendmail alias file.
This can either be /etc/aliases, or if you are using a more recent
version of Sendmail (8.6 or above) a cleaner approach is to add an
alias file specifically for Majordomo aliases by adding another
   "OA" line to /etc/sendmail.cf:

   OA/path/to/majordomo/majordomo.aliases

If you use the M4 configuration system of recent sendmails, you can add
the following line to your .mc file to achieve the same effect:

   define(`ALIAS_FILE',`/etc/aliases,/path/to/majordomo/majordomo.aliases')

Whichever method chosen, add the following aliases for Majordomo
   itself:

majordomo: "|/path/to/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"
owner-majordomo: you,
majordomo-owner: you

Regards,
Rob G

The Previous one worked .. if you used it with antivir you had to make some
minor edits though. I haven't tried this one but I did glance it over...
the modifications for AntiVir are in place in this version.. you might just

You might want to create a schell script like :

#!/bin/sh
DIRNAME=`dirname $0`
FILENAME=$1
shift
$DIRNAME/econv --unix --input $FILENAME | /path/to/majordomo/wrapper XXX
rm -f $FILENAME

and use it inside a cmd alias ( pls look at the doc ). Also you will want
to fill since I don't know majordomo.
