it all depended on sa_filter. Use is now for many, many times, but never had
this issue before.
Also cannot imagine why the problem occured.

Thanks for the hint!

[xmail] Local mailing - headers cut

2007-08-28 Thread Alexander Hagenah
Hey folks,

I set up a new xmailserver and I'm still having a very strange problem.
Everything works fine, except mailing to local users.
If I send an e-mail to any mailbox/alias on the box, the mail is empty and
nothing in the body.

In the source are only the following lines:

> Return-Path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
> Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have absolutely no idea what it depends on ...

Remote mailing works without any problems.

Thanks in advance.

Just look the inside the mail-body. The E-Mail is full of div/span tags and
floats with plain ASCII-Chars.
No wonder, that your SPAM-Filter didn't recognize it.

Use SA with Bayes-Filter and your problem will be gone with the wind after

1st choice should be:

Alternatively you can you a more complex system like:
http://www.lindeman.org/filters.html

Or write your own filter and combinate it with e. g. filters.post-data.tab

No, they can't. But they can evaluate them from the server.
That's the real problem.
In fact, it's a good idea, but not really practicable.

Great pleasure to present the german Kardinal Ratzinger as the new pope.
Especially to Davide.
No Italian - a german did it. ;)

And next yeah, we'll win the FIFA World Cup. In the final match we'll
beat Italy, too. xD

Have a nice day guys. :)

It's working without any problems. Just have to set the `real-adress'
mail-adress of each sender into ActiveDirectory-Users. XMail will
forward all incoming messages to Exchange - and Exchange looks into AD
and spread it to the specified user. In this case - Exchange must NOT
have a Smarthost. It doesn't matter - but it is not bad, to do this.
There *might* be some DNS problems, if not using a Smarthost - by
sending/receiving mails with the LOCAL.DOMAIN as a (non-)valid address.

First: Nice idea with the feature requests. It would be senseful.
But I expect, Davide implements it only, if Italy will beat France on
WorldCup in Germany 2006 so far. *hrhr*

Do it - but add a simple whitelisting for the ML.

(-162) doesn't tell me a lot, but -232 (ERR_CONNECT) sounds like there
is no possibility for xmail to connect to hotmail.com on STMP-Layer.

I'm not sure, but I expect Hotmail does a RDNS-Check on your mailserver.
Check your "Reverse DNS" at http://www.dnsstuff.com/ (enter your
IP-adress under Reverse DNS Lookup).
Anyway, reverse resolution is a must in these days.

Hi Davide,

I have a problem with your Readme. ;)
Inside are the following lines:

ClientDomain;ClientIP;ClientPort;ServerDomain;ServerIP;ServerPort;Time;L
ogo

That was correct up to version 1.20 - but you changed it in 1.21.
It is:

ClientDomain;[ClientIP]:ClientPort;ServerDomain;[ServerIP]:ServerPort;Ti
me;Logo
 ^^^^^^

These Parts have changed. I realized while playing around with the
MAIL-DATA.
And I got fucked up, cause, it ain't work, like I wanted.

So, can you change the Readme, pls. Maybe some others will become
brainfuck while playing around with it, too. ;)

AH, ok, make sense now for me. The box xmail is running on makes crap
the whole day, so I expected there is no reason to worry for me, that my
filter or your programm fails. :)
We'll see what further test on this mashine will tell us. So I can make
better analysis on it.

Howdy,

I found in the filters.log one more sth. strange. I got the ERROR_CODE
`-97' once. So I did a look into Errors.h and it says: `FORK'. I cannot
imagine what this speacially means. But for me it sounds like a
xmail-problem - because normally xmail shall fork anything, not my
filter.  :=3D)

Any hints?
