I tried to configure psync access through stunnel, but could not figure
out how. Any clues anyone as how I can proceed to configure xmail to
access pop through SSL? Please bear in mind I am looking for access to
other pop servers mails through SSL and NOT SSL over pop of xmail.

Thanks

Stunnel works just fine on Windows, all you have to create is a PEM
certificate (with OpenSSL for example)

I have a utility in the final test stages that provide XMail with an
SSL-frontend and transparent glue with Stunnel among other things.
Supporting
POP3S, SMTPS (TLS mode), IMAPS (until XMail v2, with a 3rd party backend).
The utility also got a no-brainer interface to create & manage your x509
certificates. It's written in Bash and targeted (atleast for the time being)
for a Linux audience only.

Hold for a few days for an announce at this list or post me a note
for a pre-release copy if you are interested. That goes for everyone
btw, as it might help shaking off eventual bugs.

I use stunnel for POP3 encryption but it really does no good on SMTP as
most clients, ie web mailing contact forms, etc, use port 25 standard
unencrypted data. It is very easy to set up. All you have to do is
make a pem, put in the appropriate dir and edit the stunnel.conf file to
tell it to listen on 995 and forward to 110. Make an init script and
start it up!

Hello Yann:

I don't believe that XMail includes any SSL functionality, but you can use a
program like stunnel (http://www.stunnel.org/) that will act as an SSL
gateway to your pop3/smtp services on XMail - have it listen on the SSL-POP3
(995) and/or SSMTP (465) and tunnel the data through to the standard ports
(110/25). Of course, this only really makes sense when you're running
stunnel on the same host as XMail is running on.

Disclaimer - I have never actually set up stunnel for secure POP3/SMTP, but
it looks fairly straightforward to me (famous last words) :-)

Hope this helps.
