Re: [Xpert]Trident Cyberblade XP XV support
Im running a Toshiba Tecra 8200 laptop with a trident cyberblade xp gfx card. The card works in Xfree but lacks xv and dga. I saw that there were some unofficial patches and maybe some of them fixed the problem. Could anyone put them in cvs or tell me how to install them. Im running debian sid. I have a patch to get video working on XP but it only displays videos upside down so far :-(( Egbert. ___ Xpert mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/xpert

This sounds very good. If you want a tester, I can test the Trident Cyberblade XP part. Was the the Xv support without acceleration supposed to work in that package, or do I need to wait for the trident patch? All changes Debian makes to the upstream sources are documented in the package changelog, and in even greater detail in the source package, in the directory debian/patches. I have applied no patches to the trident driver beyond what is in xf-4_1-branch, because the recent commits to the trident driver were huge and I don't know if they depend on other internal changes to the server that may have taken place since 4.1.0 was tagged. Aaron Lehmann (another Debian developer) is currently experimening with the Trident driver, so I may be able to apply an Xv patch for trident in the near future. Many thanx for all the help, I really hope that Xv will work, I cannot watch movies on my laptop because I need Xv (in mplayer). Therefor I need dual-boot with windows to watch movies :( Thank you again. On Sat, 2001-09-22 at 11:41, Alan Hourihane wrote: Xv never worked on the XP because it lacked acceleration. That's still the case for lacking acceleration, but now the Xv trident code doesn't need acceleration anymore, so Xv should (?) work on the XP. As the XP is only implemented in laptops and I've never had access to a trident laptop it's up to you guys to test. Alan.
