[yocto] New autobuilder adt-repo functionality and known adt-installer issues.

2012-09-11 Thread Flanagan, Elizabeth
All,

There have been a few bugs opened via QA over the inability to test
the adtrepo from autobuilder builds over the past few weeks. Last week
I started looking at this and have implemented some changes to the
autobuilder which should make it so that this won't be an issue for
much longer.

The autobuilder nightly buildset now builds out two adt-installers and
can install the resulting adtrepo of both. The production autobuilder
will now build out the vanilla adt-installer which points to the adt
repo at adtrepo.yoctoproject.org/${SDK_VERSION}. This adt-installer
will only be used for point and major releases and should only be
tested when preparing for that release.

The second adt-installer points to
adtrepo-dev.yoctoproject.org/${SDK_VERSION}-githash. This adt repo is
installed automatically from the autobuilder and is the one that
should be tested against using the adt-installer in nightly's
adt-installer-QA.

For people using the yocto-autobuilder, all of this is configurable
through the autobuilder.conf file and is turned off by default. The
code for this is currently in the production autobuilder and I'm
working on testing it out in that environment to ensure that there are
no issues.

After checking the M4.rc2 buildout tonight there is still an issue
with the adt-installer. The opkg.conf files don't update to the
correct adtrepo location. I'm working on a patch for it now, however
to get around this for testing, you'll need to manually update
./opkg/conf/opkg-sdk-*.conf
to either:

src yp-x86_64-nativesdk
http://http://adtrepo-dev.yoctoproject.org/1.2+snapshot-dd3edc9fbb674682947e8218202fdbeef8635dd5
or
src yp-i686-nativesdk
http://http://adtrepo-dev.yoctoproject.org/1.2+snapshot-dd3edc9fbb674682947e8218202fdbeef8635dd5

A bit more on this. The bug was in the autobuilder and should now be
patched. The adt-installer-QA tarball for 1.3_M4 has been updated
accordingly.

[yocto] imx28 u-boot without NAND command

2012-09-11 Thread Raul Rosetto Munoz
Hello All,

I need to use the command NAND in the imx28 u-boot.

I did a patch that put the line #define COMFIG_CMD_NAND in the
/include/configs/mx28evk.h file, and if I look at
/tmp/work/imx28evk-poky-linux-gnueabi/u-boot-v2012.04.01-r3/git/include/configs/mx28evk.h
I can see that the patch was sucessful.

My problem is that when I stop u-boot, u-boot tell me that nand command
don't exist.

Some one can help me to insert nand comand in u-boot?

Thanks For All Help.

I have seen 3 build failures, all related to libowl-av and sato rootfs, they
are in Atom-pc, qemuppc and mpc8315 targets. I am going attempt a rebuild

I think Matthew is aware of.

This should be fixed for master in meta-fsl-ppc.

[yocto] Replace netbase with connman

2012-09-11 Thread Marc Ferland
Hi,

I'm trying to replace netbase from my image with connman and I need help
on how to proceed. So far I see that:
- udev includes some event scripts that bring up interfaces
- netbase is included by default in core-image (which I use).

Should I remove both the udev scripts and netbase from my image and just
install connman?

So far I successfully removed the udev scripts with a bbappend to udev
but I don't know how to remove netbase from the 'core-boot' task.

Also, will connman work when booting with nfsroot?

Thanks,

  https://wiki.yoctoproject.org/wiki/Yocto_Project_v1.3_Status
- Bug fixing: good progress last week, 2 high M4 bugs. One is closed. The
other one (2162) already has patches in review.
- RC status/Saul: We recreated RC1 (which can be called RC2), Beth did some
work on AB, worked with Jessica for adt installer, there was some issues,
resolved over the weekend. We dropped RC1 and moved forward. Now working on
RC2.
- X32 progress: With recent update in the kernel, eglibc and gcc, we can
now create x32 BSPs without the x32 layer, but with one simple change in kernel
config. We are working to trigger the change automatically. Should be done this
week or so.
- QA: We started weekly testing this morning. The full pass testing should
be done by the end of this week.
- RP: wants to highlight the point on the schedule we're at - starting to
switch from feature development to stabilization and bug fixing. If there is
any big change you would like to put in, please let me know asap. We are at a
point we need to concentrate on bug fixing. HOB has some good fixes.

* SWAT team rotation: Laurentiu - Mihai
* Opens - 10 min

* Team sharing - 20 min

  - Mark: across link, some patches, arm has particular issues, if you see any
prelink issue, we probably have a fix for it. We are working one meta-selinux.
If you can help, let me know. Last week in LinuxCon, we already have a large
number of patches for se-linux.
  - MichaelH: Worked on bugzilla, adt issues, did some work for the data
center. There were some people locked out of the servers. Resolved those issue.
Layers cleanup, basic information for layers, very easy to do. But make a big
difference. RP/Dave: our code should be self documenting in many places such as
layers.
  - RP: sstate checksum changes going in. (sorry to miss this here, Richard.
Please feel free to fill in if necessary), looking for feedback. Disk clean
needs to be hold off to 1.4.
  - Paul: ability to specify task and follow dependency recursively, etc.
