Recently Groovetech's had to make a number of difficult decisions to ensure
that it continues to move forward.
As with any business, it's essential that we generate revenue in order to
keep our doors open. When times get tight, all companies must focus on
increasing revenues or decreasing costs.
Yeah I checked my alarm clock and it is 101.9 FM that played Mathew Herbert

G'bless NPR.
Well, NPR is a major contirbutor to the fund to prevent low-wattage radio
from becoming more accessable. They, for some reason, feel threatened by
real community radio. If low-wattage radio stations were cheaper then we
might finally hear quality music on the airwaves.

Yeah, this is a real loss.
Joe played such an important part of the music scene in NYC and the West
Coast during the 70's and will truly be missed.
I had the chance to see him in Toronto in around 89 and was amazed at how
controlled his sound was...not a loud player, but you could just hear
Hearing Aaron yell "C-O-O... L-E-Y... Cooley, Cooley... Cooley High" every
morning is enough for me.

Plus,
keep in mind that when you listen to WTDR, that it almost fell victim to
the Detroit Radio Change Whirlwind.
Last Summer, the Detroit Public Schools almost sold the spot on the dial
to a group in Detroit that claimed the Detroit dial "lacked sufficient
classical representation."

I believe the techno show on WDTR is on at 7pm on Friday nights.
Its called "stick it in your ear."

Just in case you don't know, one time Detroit resident Joe Henderson (whose
various albums and appearances on Blue Note I have eulogised on these lists
before, no doubt) has reportedly passed away. More of cult figure than a
widely recognised one, Henderson had a very distinctive tone and cut sever
This info is nearly correct, except those were two entirely separate
releases. None of the material on the Black Buildings EP is on Excerpts, and
they are both well worth having. So don't just get Excerpts thinking you
have it all, get them both - they are lovely!

I'm definitly loving WDTR in the mornings, good oldschool stuff played
there. I've heard some Lil' Louis, Guy Called Gerald, Ce Ce Pennison,
Crystal Waters, ect plus, a bunch of good hip hop and R&B.

Just another reason to turn dat sh*t off. Too bad really, as 105.1 was one
of MAAYBE two stations that would have me singing and bouncin' through all
the construction and mayhem currently barring our way on metro D's jacked
streets and byways.
Okay kiddies now repeat after me...
Hi, does anyone have any idea what time Claude is likely to be playing tonight?
Thanks

WDTR is a hell of a lot of fun ... you have to love a station that

of dancehall, and
WDVD-FM 96.3 Detroit (96.3 'DVD) has repositioned itself more towards Hot
Adult Contemporary instead of Modern Adult Contemporary and is now using
on-air positioners incorporating its WDVD call sign. The station is using

Not that he hasn't done a lot of great tracks, just that he's doing "that"
sound for "that" label. Sounding a little old to my ears, that's all --

Errr? Gez has been quite prolific over the past several years. At least 5

Wow! That about sums up the live NYC Mathew Herbert @ joe's pub on friday.
He had 3 microphones setup, one through an echo and the other two through
compressors. He started of by making a pop using his mouth into one of the
microphones then walked back to his akai (old, very old) sampler and start

at DEMF i found a flyer on the ground stating there was a new scan 7 comming
out soon. is this the new scan 7 your talking about?
The Scan 7 3 track ep, is their usual raw, funky, minimal sound.
Works really well on the floor.
