Cex was here in April, and rocked the joint, but the intervening
20 odd shows have really sharpened him up both as an MC and all around
entertainer. And his new beats are really, really tight. He played
some of his new stuff @ the record store today, and leaving the
hype and controversy

Cex talks a lot of smack about overly serious sucker-ass idm and techno
laptop producers who think that using max-msp automatically makes their
boring music and live sets arty. Also, he calls out a lot of people that
make careers out of cliches and talk about the underground but have

Plans are in the works for repressing of most of his past releases... Look
for them soon.

Hey John,
I don't think that I am going to make it tonight, but are you playing live
in Detroit anytime soon? I wanted to check you out at the magic bag a few
months back, but I am not as good at getting out as I once was. ;)
Take care,
Mike

i have to say, that i had my doubts, but after last night i have to agree
with the camp that says that Cex is brilliant.

I really want to print covers for my next record release, but
the places I've found have been really expensive, and don't really
do what I want which is to do matte printing on recycled paperboard.
Anyone have any leads? (i.e. Not Ross Ellis or Dorado Press)
Ladyfest Midwest has a pretty amazing bill. Rather than stick to
the usual folksinger format they've booked some amazing
talent like ESG and Detroit's own DJ Minx.
