A quick question for everyone. A friend of mine is
looking to get rid of his Numark pro tt2 turntables
and both very cheap say $300 for both. Should I pick
them up? What are some disadvantages? Any help would
be appreciated.

Ian Cheshire is an unbelievably tight, controlled hard techno DJ. If you
have the chance to see him, run don't walk (he has a residency in Germany in
addition to London gigs). He played 3 extrememly nice sets tonight,
including two of the best treatments of Jaguar and Orange I've ever heard. I

I have had the ProTT1's since they were introduced 2 or 3 years ago and have
been very happy with them. see the Numark site for specs on the TT2's.
WARNING: many of you purists might choke on your tea when you read this: I
think Numark did an excellent job when they designed the PRO TT line and
i would disagree with sean. i absolutly hate anything thats not technics.
save your money and spend it on technics. numark and vastax feel like toys.
the pitch control are not as true, the plat spins out of control when you
try to scratch.

I was sort of the first kid on the block to get ahold of brand new tt1's a few
years back, and I like wise got a good price on them.
There are a few perks to having tt1's (and tt2s could only be an improvement i
would guess)Like sean was saying, they can spin backwards and the digital
readout
My experience with the TT2's has been limited to a couple of the DJ shops
that utilize them for listening stations. Initially they look well designed
and built. The digital pitch readout is one feature I'd like to see on the
next-generation Technics (if such a thing ever comes along). The
